Spurs Assets in Blank GW34: Who’s Actually Worth Buying?

Spurs Assets Blank GW34: Worth the Risk?

Spurs Assets in Blank GW34: Who’s Actually Worth Buying?

You know it’s a blank gameweek when Spurs, who haven’t won a Premier League match in 2026, suddenly become must-consider assets. With a host of top sides sitting out Gameweek 34, Tottenham’s trip to relegated Wolves is one of the more attractive fixtures on the card, and if you’re deploying the Free Hit chip this week, you genuinely can’t ignore them. The question is: which ones do you actually want?

Before we get into it, if you haven’t already sorted your chip plan, make sure you check out our best GW34 Free Hit team and our GW34 captains guide, both are essential reading alongside this piece.

Pedro Porro

Pedro Porro | £5.1m | DEF | 10.5% ownership, this is the standout Spurs pick of the week, and it’s not particularly close. Under Roberto De Zerbi, Porro has had his set-piece duties restored after they were stripped under Tudor, and he’s been cutting inside rather than hugging the touchline, exactly the kind of advanced role that generates FPL returns.

He’s racked up four chances created and six shots across the two De Zerbi games, and he’s already pulling in transfers, over 28,000 this week alone. Wolves rank rock bottom for xGC in their last six matches and are in the bottom two for set-play attempts and headed chances conceded. Porro is tailor-made to exploit that. The clean sheet potential is shaky given Spurs’ defensive fragility, but his attacking upside more than compensates. A great Free Hit punt.

Xavi Simons

Xavi Simons | £6.5m | MID | 2.0% ownership, now this is where it gets exciting. Simons was the inspiration in GW33 against Brighton, finishing with four shots, two chances created, and 0.90 xGI, plus a goal and assist. His form rating of 6.0 leads all the players mentioned here by a distance, and De Zerbi has gone on record saying he has a special connection with Simons.

He’s still only 2% owned, which makes him a genuine differential if you’re chasing rank this week. One of Simons or Solanke is likely on penalty duties too, which adds another layer of appeal. The worry is fitness, he cramped up late in GW33, but with De Zerbi unable to make a sixth sub, that’s more circumstance than concern. He’s the most exciting Spurs attacking option right now.

Dominic Solanke

Dominic Solanke | £7.2m | FWD | 1.7% ownership, Solanke is the punt of the week. He leads Spurs’ underlying goal threat stats with six shots, all inside the box, across the last two matches, and De Zerbi has publicly backed him ahead of Richarlison. Rate My Team also fancies him as the top-scoring Spurs asset of the gameweek.

That being said, he’s a hard-working centre-forward who drops deep to win the ball, which is great in real life, less so for FPL. The lack of quality forward options playing in GW34 enhances his appeal if you’re desperate for a striker slot, but go in with eyes open. He’s a calculated risk, not a banker.

Kevin Danso

Kevin Danso | £4.2m | DEF, if you need a budget enabler in defence, Danso is quietly leading Spurs’ defensive contribution (DefCon) numbers under De Zerbi. He won’t win you a gameweek, but at £4.2m he frees up funds elsewhere in your Free Hit structure. We wouldn’t double up on Spurs defenders given their clean sheet record, but as a single cheapie? Totally workable.

Antonin Kinsky

Antonin Kinsky | £3.9m | GKP | 1.8% ownership, tempting on paper if your usual keeper is blanking, but tread carefully. Guglielmo Vicario is doubtful (50% chance) for GW34 after hernia surgery, and if he returns, Kinsky drops straight out of the picture. Unless you’re absolutely stuck, this is one to avoid.

Final Thoughts

Nothing quite sums up the chaos of a blank gameweek like seriously debating Spurs assets, a team yet to win in the Premier League in 2026. But Wolves away is genuinely one of the better fixtures on the card this week, and Porro and Simons are the two names we’d be most comfortable backing. If you need a forward, Solanke is a reasonable punt given the slim pickings elsewhere.

If you’re not on the Free Hit and are considering a straight transfer, Porro’s attacking role and set-piece duties make him the most justifiable long-term hold of the bunch. Play your own game, but Spurs assets aren’t as mad a call as they sound this week.
