The Best FPL Gameweek 36 Differentials

With only 3 gameweeks remaining in the season, the need for differential options to take you over the line has never been higher. Let’s say you’re out of chips, 30 points behind in your mini-league and low on free transfers. The only way you can climb is through differential power. So we’ve got you covered.

Make sure you check out our Best gameweek 36 captains piece for more differential points. And also our Predicted Line-ups and Team News Hub before locking in any changes.

Also, make sure you check out our gameweek 34 differentials and gameweek 35 differentials pieces, as some of those suggestions are still fantastic options.

In fact, last week the top differentials we suggested all scored:

  • Noah Okafor – 1 Goal + 2BPs = Total 10 Points
  • Jack Hinshelwood – 1 Goal = 7 Points
  • Igor Jesus – 1 Goal = 5 Points

The Week before it was Wood, Saka and Wirtz. You get the picture, we’re nailing it.

We did also recommend KDH, however given they were playing City, we mentioned his inclusion for GW35 only made sense if on wildcard and he should be benched for said fixture.

Either way, we have been absolutely smashing our differential picks of late, so make sure you get on them from early instead of playing catch up.

Our New FPL Stats page shows all ownership %’s as well as the template line up tp take on.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get stuck into the best gameweek 36 differentials.

No Crystal Palace

Do not get hooked in by the double. Not only do Palace have nothing to play for in the league, they also have a European competition which is taking the majority of their attention. We have seen even key players like Munoz, Mateta, Sarr etc all rested. In fact, the only players who seem like they will avoid rotation are Maxence Lacroix and Dean Henderson. So if you must go for some Palace options then they seem like you best bets.

Not only do they have their attention elsewhere, but 2 of their remaining 4 fixtures against City and Arsenal. Both of which have everything to play for, so we can’t even bank on Palace facing their depleted squads.

The double feels like a big trap to me.

Abdukodir Khusanov – £5.4m

Ownership: 0.7%

Look, I understand it’s hard to go against O’Reilly at present. Especially if you already have 2 other attacking spots in your lineup. However, the angle we were thinking of is the potential Semenyo to Khusanov move as part of a double transfer. Now yes, Cherki is definitely the hot shot asset at present. But given City’s plethora of attacking options, there is still the ever present chance he gets rotated. Khusanov however, like the rest of the defence, doesn’t seem to have the same problem.

What Khusanov also has, unlike other City defenders, appears to be a more consistent DefCon threat. Not least from his playstyle, but also from the fact that he has hit the threshold in 3/3 of City’s most recent games. While the likes of Guehi and Nunes have all gone 0/3. Now yes, City did just concede 3 against Everton, but double City defence could be a solid differential counter to double City attack, especially if you believe they could be involved in some more cagey fixtures. With his Defcon providing a nice floor.

Jeremy Doku – £6.4m

Ownership: 3.4%

On the absolute flipside, if you were looking to go attack instead, and take on Haaland, Semenyo and Cherki, then Doku could be an excellent alternative. With 3 goals and an assist in 4 starts in a row, Doku has really cranked it up a bit of late. His directness and willingness to take on players and get into the box has landed him in good stead.

Now yes, minutes will always be a concern, but honestly with 4 starts in a row and the recent impact Doku has had, I think at least for now you can feel fairly confident about bringing him in.

Anton Stach – £4.8m

Ownership: 1.8%

Back from injury with a bang is their main man Stach. Stach now brings his tally on the season to 5 goals and 6 assists. A stat which is all the more impressive considering he has missed 8 games. When you factor in the fact he averages 10.3 DefCons a games, his value is raised even further.

As mentioned in previous articles, Leeds have some of the most favourable end of season fixtures in the entire league. Facing 2 of the bottom 4 in Spurs and West Ham, as well as Brighton. With the trickier fixture being the home one. So not a bad run in at all.

Leeds are not mathematically safe from relegation yet, and a loss to Spurs would throw them right back into the mix. So there is every chance they have plenty to play for.

Casemiro – £5.8m

Ownership: 4.9%

Now normally we would advise against players from a team who have nothing to play for, especially veterans as they are often more likely to be rotated out. However, with the news that this will be Casemiro’s final season at Man United, the idea of them benching him for their remaining 3 games would be savage. They are more likely to want to give him a proper send off.

This man is a Swiss army knife for FPL points, registering 9 goals and 4 assists on the season, to go along with a DefCon average of 12.66 per 90. Truly elite all-round numbers.

With Sunderland and Forest in their next 2, there is every chance we see Man United put up some more dominant attacking displays. Especially if Forest qualify for the Europa League final and seem safe from relegation. They may even let this man take a penalty, who knows.

Will Osula – £5.4m

Ownership: 0.7%

With 3 goals in his last 4 games, Osula seems to be one of the few Newcastle players capable of finding the net of late. It is worth noting that Newcastle look like a different side with Bruno Guimaraes back in the team, with an impressive win against high flying Brighton proving so.

Take it from me, when Eddie has a favourite, that player tends to be trusted with minutes for extended amounts of time, and Osula seems like exactly that at present. With the Brighton result further reinforcing this. Now even though Newcastle do not have much to play for in the league, with a large section of the fanbase calling for Eddie’s head, these last few games will be must-wins in terms of his own survival.

Newcastle also have very favourable fixtures, with Forest, West Ham and Fulham as their remaining 3. With a lot on the line for Eddie, Osula in good form, and 3 of the leagues weaker defences, there is every chance Osula pop ups with a few goals in these remaining few games. Especially with Bruno G back providing some excellent service.
