Recreating 5 Classic Tactics in Football Manager 26

If there’s one thing we can all agree on about the new Football Manager 2026, it’s that the new tactics are fun. Whether you disagree about if they’re better than previously, or about how much they break the match engine, you can’t deny their part in allowing far greater tactical flexibility. So I’ve decided to have a bit of fun and recreate five iconic managers tactics on Football Manager 2026. If people enjoy this, let me know by messaging me, as I thoroughly enjoyed making these and tinkering with tactics to see how close I could get to their real-life tactics. We have some of the greatest managers ever and some of the most revolutionary tactics in the following article. Enjoy.

Five legendary managers and their tactics recreated in FM 26

Pep Guardiola – 3-2-5 / 4-1-4-1 Positional Play

Pep’s football is built around control: a 3-2 build-up, five-lane attack and full-backs who step inside to form midfield overloads. FM26’s Inside Full-Backs and Inside Wing-Backs let you recreate this structure almost perfectly.
