And just like that the final Gameweek of the season is here! Let’s gear up for one final push to clinch glory and have the bragging rights all summer over your mini league rivals! So with that here are the final three candidates to help you sign off from another exciting FPL campaign!

Bowen – IPS (A)

The man in-form, Jarrod Bowen, kicks things off as he prepares to lead the West Ham attack against a leaky Ipswich Town defence that has had a very weak defensive showing this season. Ipswich rank 19th for xGC and having conceded the 2nd most goals (79) in the league while keeping only 2 clean sheets, the least in the entire league!

Bowen has been turning up the heat lately with 44 points from the last 5 Gameweeks which now see him rank 13th for goals scored, 29th for xG, 28th for nPxG, 16th for assists, 12th for xA, 31st for Big Chances Created, and 9th for Penalty Area Touches. He’s been the talisman for an otherwise mid West Ham attack that ranks 15th for goals scored, 14th for xG, and 16th for Big Chances Created. The fixture against Ipswich provides the opportunity to bag a few more goals.

This season Bowen, with the help of 3 goals and 2 assists, has 37 points from 5 games against the relegated teams, including a goal and an assist against Ipswich in the reverse fixture. Being the focal point of an attack facing one of the weakest defences in the league raises Bowen’s stocks as he’s poised for another big haul thanks to his creative output, finishing, and set piece duties, making him a very strong candidate for being the final captain of the season!

Saka – SOU (A)

One main man to another, Bukayo Saka is up next as he faces the worst defence in the league for the final fixture of the season. Southampton have not helped themselves this season, keeping just 3 clean sheets in the entire season while conceding 84 goals (most in the league) and ranking 20th for xGC. Arsenal would also have their tails up to take the maximum advantage of the fixture and give their fans a reason to cheer for.

Despite missing a considerable amount of time this season, Saka has still shown multiple glimpses of his potential and proven why he’s ranked highly among the FPL community. He ranks 4th for assists, 4th for xA, 3rd for Big Chances Created, and 14th for Penalty Area Touches, and in addition to that has scored 6 goals too. Arsenal have also been strong in attack yet again this season and are racked 4th for goals scored, 7th for xG, and 5th for Big Chances Created.

A strong attack against a weak defence in the final Gameweek of the season has the makings of another FPL classic, and locking in on their star boy could yield high dividends for managers who hand Bukayo the armband, backing on his creativity, sublime finishing, and the bonus penalty potential.

Mbeumo – WOL (A)

And with that the final pick of the season, another consistent performer throughout the season, Bryan Mbeumo. He takes on a Wolves defence that’s ranked 15th for xGC and has conceded 7 goals in their last 3 games. On the other hand, Brentford are in fine goal scoring form with 12 goals in their last 5 games, and it’s trivial that Mbeumo played a big part in this attacking display.

Mbeumo deserves his flowers this season as he has lifted Brentford to rank 5th for goals scored, 8th for xG, and 5th for Big Chances Created. And on an individual level is where we can see him truly shining, he’s ranked 5th for goals scored, 11th for xG, 31st for nPxG, 16th for assists, 1st for xA, 4th for Big Chances Created, and 10th for Penalty Area Touches. Yet another combination of a strong player against a weak defense in the final GW!

Mbeumo has been a beast against weak defenses this season and has a MASSIVE 100 POINTS from just 11 games against the teams in the bottom 6 for xGC! Being one goal away from the magical 20 goal mark would also be an added milestone that he would be aiming for besides guiding his team to a win. The last roll of the dice. Creative. Clinical in front of goal. On penalties. All the ingredients make him an excellent candidate for the armband in the final Gameweek of this season!
