Just the 2 GWs to go before the season comes to an end

The title has been decided and the 3 relegated sides confirmed, there are still a decent amount of teams fighting for the UCL, UEL and Conference League spots.

Outside of the 4 teams I mentioned these are the teams that have everything to play for to get the European spots:

Arsenal
Man city
Newcastle United
Chelsea
Nottingham Forest
Aston villa
Bournemouth
Brentford
Brighton

These are the teams that will go for it and have some sort of motivation to push on and thus will play their best XI.

1. Aston Villa

With all to play for and champions league spot on the line villa will have to play their strongest XI now till the end of the season. Both of their opponents TOT and MUN have absolutely nothing to play for in the league and both are focusing on the Europa League only.

🥇 Watkins: He was out of favour in the league with Rashford taking his position at 9 for a few games recently. With Rashford being out for the season with an injury Watkins is one of the best forwards to own for the remainder of the season. He has 4 goals and an assist in the last 5 GWs despite playing very limited minutes. Watkins is the standout forward to buy for the remaining GWs.

🥈 Rogers: Probably the best villa player to own currently in terms of minutes. Bang in form with 3 assists in the last 5GWs, Villa were knocked out of the UCL and FA cup and they would want to finish the season on a high.

NOTE: I am not convinced with the villa defence for the final 3 GWs TOT, MUN are decent attackers and both of them could score.

2. Brentford

They have one of the best fixture runs to end the season, they play 2 of the defences who are not at all sound and have nothing to play for this season. Brentford also have a thin chance of getting the conference league next season

🥇 Mbeumo: 2 goals and 3 assists in the last 5GWs despite the team not performing as well. Penalties is his biggest positive and Brentford regularly keep winning a few. Mbeumo is also a decent captaincy option this week

🥈 Wissa: The duo of Wissa and Mbeumo have combined for 48 goals and assists this season which is the most in Brentford history. Wissa has outscored Mbeumo with 4 goals and an assists in the last 5 GWs. He could be a great replacement for Mateta which people will look to sell in GW37.

NOTE: I think the Schade ship has sailed now and I wouldn’t look to buy him now to chase points.

3. Man City

Man City have picked up form recently and are looking a their very best, they also have the best fixture run till the end of the season.

🥇 De Bruyne: He is by far the best City attacker and the one I would own if you already don’t have him. He started all of the last 5 games which is the first time he has started 5 consecutive games in the league this season and looks absolutely injury and niggle free. 2 goals and an assist and 31 pts in the last 5 GWs. He does play a FA cup final 2 days before BOU in GW37 but i think he will start in GW37 given its his final home game for Manchester City.

🥈 Gvardiol: He has 5 goals this season the most amongst defenders and 3 clean sheets in the last 5 GWs. His attacking potential has gone down totally since Pep shifted him from LB to CB but he still is the best defensive option for clean sheets.

NOTE: I don’t consider Marmoush and Haaland as good options for the rest of the season because of the FA cup final and their potential risky xMins until the end of the season.

4. Nottingham Forest

The final 2 GWs for forest are decent where they play WHU and CHE and both are an absolute must win games to have some chance of getting UCL football for next season.

🥇 Wood: 2nd among strikers for FPL points this season and only Salah, Haaland and Isak has more goals than him this season. He will be a very popular transfer in for the final few GWs , his form has dipped lately with only 2 goal in his last 8 games but the fixtures are amazing to get end the season on a very high.

🥈 Milenkovic, Neco, Sels: The defence is a goldmine and a lottery, just pick any of the 3 and you would be good to go. They are the 2nd best defence in the league and only Liverpool have kept more clean sheets than Forest. This is how i would rank them in the order of preference.

  1. Neco Williams
  2. Milenkovic
  3. Sels
