With the DGW32 coming to an end all three of our captaincy picks had a small-ish return leading to some decent green arrows and our choice Isak delivered 11 points which still seems underwhelming as it was a Gameweek in which his team scored NINE goals. And now we’re thrilled for a quick turnaround in DGW33 to chase more green arrows, so here are three (and a hidden fourth) candidates who could lead you to more FPL glory:

Marmoush – EVE (A) and AVL (H)

Manchester City have a new star in Omar Marmoush, who’s stepped up as their attacking spearhead in the absence of Erling Haaland. He netted another goal in City’s 5-2 win at home against Crystal Palace, taking his tally to six goals and one assist from nine starts which show his flair. He now has a double Gameweek against Everton and Aston Villa, despite Everton ranking 8th for xGC at home they only got their first clean sheet in their last 9 games in GW32, and Villa have conceded 13 goals in 7 games against teams ranked in the top 5 for xG while keeping no clean sheets!!

Marmoush’s short Premier League stint has been electric, following a stunning 15 goals and 10 assists in 17 Bundesliga games earlier this season. City’s attack remains potent, ranking 2nd for goals scored, 3rd for xG, and 4th for big chances created. With their push for the UCL spots heating up, Marmoush is at the heart of a free-flowing offense, ready to exploit two favorable matchups.

His two double-digit hauls this season, including a 17-point hat-trick against Newcastle, highlight his explosive potential. Marmoush is the focal point of City’s creative midfield, and coupled with his clinical finishing makes him a prime captaincy pick for DGW33. For managers chasing mini-league rivals, his 30.5% ownership (currently) and double gameweek ceiling make him a tantalizing armband choice.

For people chasing some steep gaps in their mini leagues, Kevin de Bruyne could be an explosive pick as well. We have seen his magic over the years in the PL and is of course an FPL Bois all timer! His xMins could be a limiting factor in case Pep roulette kicks in but besides that it has all the makings of a big performance in his final lap of the league.

Saka – IPS (A) and CRY (H)

Arsenal’s starboy Bukayo Saka is a bold captaincy dream for DGW33, despite a quiet GW32 where he blanked in a draw against Brentford, playing just 27 minutes. But his season tally of 6 goals and 10 assists (still 2nd in the league) cements his status as a premium midfielder, and with 22.3% ownership, his popularity is on the rise. Saka faces Ipswich Town who rank 19th for xGC and have conceded 36 goals in 16 home games, and Crystal Palace, who have just one clean sheet in their last 5 PL games. They have conceded 15 goals in 6 matches against the current top 5!

Saka’s talent and consistency is unmatched, paired with his penalty-taking duties fueling Arsenal’s attack, which ranks 4th for goals scored, 7th for xG, and 7th for Big Chances Created. Against Ipswich’s open defense and Palace’s high line Arsenal fared really well with comfortable wins against both teams in the reverse fixtures (a 1-0 win against Ipswich and a 5-1 drubbing of Palace at the Selhurst Park). Now with their recent exploits against Madrid and no Champions League game for another 2 weeks, the stage is set for a big double Gameweek haul for Saka.

The recent knock against Real Madrid raised concerns, but Arteta’s confirmation of Saka’s fitness has also eased rotation fears (to an extent). With two plum fixtures, Saka offers both creativity and instinctive finishing which lead him to a sky-high ceiling this gameweek, making him an excellent and a brave captaincy choice!.

Salah – LEI (A)

If there’s one single fixture player that would make the list in a big double Gameweek it would have to be King Mo Salah! And he’s here back with the attacking returns (albeit a small one in GW32) but his staggering 317 points this season keep him atop the FPL throne by a long long way. He faces Leicester City next who rank 18th for xGC and have conceded 21 goals in their last 8 home games without any response, 0-21!

Salah’s numbers are beyond incredible: he ranks 1st for goals scored, 1st for xG, 2nd for nPxG, 1st for assists, 3rd for xA, 1st for Penalty Area Touches, and 1st for Big Chances Created. Similarly, Liverpool’s attack is unmatched, leading the league for goals scored, xG, and Big Chances Created. Salah’s single Gameweek may feel like it tempers his ceiling compared to Marmoush or Saka, but Leicester’s defensive woes and Salah’s relentlessness all season—suggest another big haul.

Salah has had a feast against the promoted teams this season and has 7 goals and 1 assist from 5 games leading to 59 points (11.8 points/game), including a 9 pointer against Leicester in the reverse fixture, which instantly make him a captaincy heavyweight, even with just one game.
