Nottingham Forest vs Brighton (Saturday 12:30pm kick-off):

Games started:

Sels: 23/23

Aina: 23/23
Milenkovic: 22/23
Murillo: 22/23
Williams: 13/23

Dominguez: 12/23
Yates:15/23
Anderson: 18/23

Gibbs-White: 19/23
Elanga: 17/23
Wood: 22/23

  • Williams has started the last 9 league games at left-back, no need to worry about the low overall number of starts.
  • Hudson-Odoi is likely to miss out on this game. Some form of front 3 of Wood, Elanga and Gibbs White is what I expect.
  • I think Dominguez comes in to the midfield.

Games started:

Verbruggen: 21/23

Veltman: 17/23
Van Hecke: 20/23
Dunk: 16/23
Lamptey: 5/23

Baleba: 18/23
Ayari: 14/23
Joao Pedro: 15/23

Minteh: 7/23
Mitoma: 20/23
Welbeck: 15/23

  • With Estupinan injured, Lamptey will play left-back.
  • Minteh over Gruda against a relative low block. Gruda did not excel against Everton’s low-block last weekend and was taken off.
  • Pay attention to the reports of Al Nassr making offers of over £65 million for Mitoma. If the deal is reported to be near completion before the weekend arrives, Mitoma likely would not start.

Bournemouth vs Liverpool (Saturday 3pm kick-off):

Games started:

Arrizabalaga: 16/23

Cook: 20/23
Zabarnyi: 23/23
Hujisen: 12/23
Kerkez: 23/23

Christie: 20/23
Adams: 8/23
Kluivert: 18/23

Brooks: 5/23
Semenyo: 22/23
Ouattara: 11/23

  • Little to think about here. Iraola will run back the same exact starting XI that astoundingly thrashed Newcastle 4-1 and Forest 5-0.

Games started:

Alisson: 14/22

Alexander-Arnold: 20/22
Konate: 20/22
Van Dijk: 23/22
Tsimikas: 3/22

Gravenberch: 23/22
Mac Allister: 19/22
Szoboszlai: 15/22

Salah: 23/22
Gakpo: 14/22
Diaz: 16/22

  • Gakpo, despite playing against PSV in midweek while the majority of the senior players were not included in the squad, will start at left-wing. He has been in incredible form, and has been key to some tactical shifts from Slot over the past couple of months that have made Liverpool an even better and more complete side than in the first half of the season. Nunez was also left out of the PSV game due to illness.
  • Believe in a game against such a great Bournemouth side with attacking players in brilliant form, Slot will opt with the left-back who has been much more steady and less mistake prone this season – Tsimikas. Also think Robertson’s intensity will be best utilised in the Merseyside Derby.

Everton vs Leicester (Saturday 3pm kick-off):

Games started:

Pickford: 23/22

O’Brien: 2/22
Tarkowski: 22/22
Branthwaite: 13/22
Mykolenko: 20/22

Gueye: 19/22
Garner: 2/22
Doucoure: 19/22

Lindstrom: 9/22
Ndiaye: 20/22
Beto: 1/22

  • Everton have won their last 2 games under new manager David Moyes with this lineup outside of 2 changes that will be forced upon Moyes due to injuries.
  • The only changes will be Beto replacing the injured Calvert-Lewin up front and in midfield, Garner replacing Mangala who tore his ACL.

Games started:

Stolarczyk: 6/23

Justin: 22/23
Faes: 16/23
Vestergaard: 14/23
Kristiansen: 20/23

Soumare: 12/23
Winks: 16/23
El Khannous: 13/23

Reid: 3/23
Ayew: 12/23
Vardy: 21/23

  • Leicester also picked up their first win after a tough stretch. They will almost definitely stick with the same starting XI.

Ipswich vs Southampton (Saturday 3pm kick-off):

Games started:

Walton: 6/23

Tuanzebe: 10/23
O’Shea: 20/23
Greaves: 13/23
Davis: 23/23

Morsy: 20/23
Phillips: 10/23
Hutchinson: 21/23

Enciso: 2/23
Philogene: 3/23
Delap: 21/23

  • Enciso comes in for the injured Burns. The rest of the lineup is likely remain unchanged.

Games started:

McCarthy: 5/23

Walker-Peters: 21/23
Bree: 7/23
Bednarek: 19/23
Harwood-Bellis: 21/23
Manning: 10/23

Aribo: 14/23
Ugochukwu: 6/23
Fernandes: 19/23

Onuachu: 5/23
Armstrong: 15/23

  • Onuachu has been in favour over Archer. Ugochukwu has been the preferred choice over Downes in midfield.
  • Ramsdale could be fit to play and would start over McCarthy if he is fit.

Newcastle vs Fulham (Saturday 3pm kick-off):

Games started:

Pope: 15/23

Livramento: 18/23
Schar: 18/23
Botman: 3/23
Hall: 20/23

Guimaraes: 23/23
Tonali: 14/23
Joelington: 22/23

Murphy: 14/23
Gordon: 21/23
Isak: 21/23

  • Pope comes back into the starting XI after being on the bench against Southampton last weekend.
  • Botman also comes back in for Burn – as he was likely rested against bottom of the league Southampton to manage his recovery. No better game to rest him in but Howe will want his strongest XI for Fulham.
  • If Botman does start alongside Schar, that will be a good indicator for what Howe’s favoured centre-back duo is for games against tougher opponents.

Games started:

Leno: 23/23

Castagne: 8/23
Andersen: 15/23
Bassey: 22/23
Robinson: 23/23

Lukic: 17/23
Berge: 12/2316/23
Pereira:

Adama: 11/23
Iwobi: 23/23
Jimenez: 18/23

  • With Harry Wilson out for a long period, Adama comes back into the starting XI and helps provide cover for Castagne defensively with his athleticism and running power.
  • Silva has often elected for Pereira over Smith Rowe against the top sides. Smith-Rowe did not feature against Liverpool, City, Bournemouth or Chelsea this season.

Wolves vs Aston Villa (Saturday 5:30pm kick-off):

Games started:

Sa: 16/23

Semedo: 18/23
Doherty: 12/23
Bueno: 15/23
Agbadou: 3/23
Ait-Nouri: 22/23

Andre: 16/23
Lemina: 15/23

Sarabia: 4/23
Hee-Chan: 5/23
Cunha:20/23

  • Unchanged lineup from Wolves last 2 league games outside of Lemina replacing the suspended Joao Gomes and Hwang replacing the injured Strand Larsen.
  • Cunha moves into the lone striker role while Hwang plays that left sided forward/10 role.

Games started:

Martinez: 23/23

Bogarde: 3/23
Konsa:21/23
Kamara: 11/23
Digne: 23/23

Tielemans: 23/23
McGinn:16/23
Rogers: 22/23

Bailey: 13/23
Ramsey: 10/23
Watkins: 19/23

  • With Villa being hampered by several injuries to key defenders (Cash, Mings and Torres), they will have to employ a make-shift defence.
  • McGinn likely moves into Midfield and Bogarde shifts back into right-back to replace Cash.
  • Kamara started at centre-back alongside Konsa in midweek.

Brentford vs Spurs (Sunday 2pm kick-off):

Games started:

Flekken: 23/23

Kayode: 0/23
Collins: 23/23
Van den Berg: 18/23
Lewis Potter: 15/23

Norgard: 20/23
Janelt: 19/23
Damsgaard: 20/23

Mbeumo: 23/23
Schade: 11/23
Wissa: 19/23

  • Unchanged starting lineup from the 2-1 victory against Crystal Palace in Gameweek 23 outside of new signing Kayode starting at right-back, replacing Roerslev who went out on loan to Wolfsburg.

Games started:

Kinsky: 3/23

Porro: 20/23
Gray: 9/23
Van de Ven: 9/23
Davies: 5/23

Bergvall: 5/23
Bentancur: 10/23
Sarr: 15/23

Kulusevski: 21/23
Son: 18/23
Richarlison: 1/23

  • Van de Ven returns and is desperately needed with all of Spurs’ injuries in defence. Gray likely starts at centre-back alongside him.
  • Davies will play left-back with Spence having a knock – I doubt Ange will want to take risks with any of his injured players.
  • Midfield remains unchanged from their last 2 games.
  • Front 3 picks itself.

Man United vs Crystal Palace (Sunday 2pm kick-off):

Games started:

Onana: 23/23

Dalot: 22/23
De Ligt: 18/23
Maguire: 11/23
Martinez: 19/23
Mazraoui: 21/23

Uguarte: 12/23
Fernandes: 22/23

Amad: 16/23
Mainoo: 14/24
Hojlund: 13/23

  • Unchanged lineup from the victory against Fulham in Gameweek 23, outside of sliding Kobe Mainoo into one of the number 10 roles, where he excelled in the Europa League. Amorim spoke about his skill-set being ideal for one of the 10 roles and preferring to have Mainoo focussed on attacking and his on the ball duties rather than tracking back and making recovery defensive runs.

Games started:

Henderson: 23/23

Munoz: 22/23
Richards: 10/23
Lacroix: 20/23
Guehi: 22/23
Mitchell: 23/23

Hughes: 15/23
Lerma: 14/23

Sarr: 16/23
Nketiah: 6/23
Mateta: 21/23

  • Lerma starts over Kamada, who started in their win over West Ham in Gameweek 22. Lerma did start over Kamada in Gameweek 23. Lerma offers more solidity and experience over Kamada who has made some costly errors and had some poor performances this season.
  • With Eze out injured, Nketiah is the most likely to come into that attacking role, as Palace do have limited attacking options who can provide what is needed.

Arsenal vs Man City (Sunday 4:30pm kick-off):

Games started:

Raya: 23/23

Timber: 19/23
Saliba: 21/23
Gabriel: 21/23
Calafiori: 8/23

Odegaard: 14/23
Partey: 19/23
Rice: 19/23

Trossard: 15/23
Martinelli: 15/23
Havertz: 20/23

  • Raya is an injury question ahead of this matchup, after missing out in the Champions League. It is a muscular issue.
  • While Nwaneri has impressed, it is unlikely the more conservative Arteta starts a 17 year old in a game of this magnitude.
  • Partey comes back into midfield and Timber starts at right-back.

Games started:

Ederson: 15/23

Nunes: 9/23
Khusanov: 1/23
Akanji: 19/23
Gvardiol: 21/23

De Bruyne: 11/23
Kovacic: 17/23
Silva: 20/23

Foden: 14/23
Marmoush: 1/23
Haaland: 23/23

  • Khusanov back into centre-back after resting midweek. Believe Pep will want his aerial prowess against Arsenal and their set pieces.
  • De Bruyne comes back into midfield. He has haunted Arteta’s Arsenal over the years and Pep rested him midweek.
  • Marmoush gets the nod over Savinho once again. He is the better player and performed too well against Chelsea not to start.

Chelsea vs West Ham (Monday 8pm kick-off):

Games started:

Sanchez: 23/23

James: 5/23
Chalobah: 14/23
Colwill: 22/23
Cucurella: 19/23

Caicedo: 23/23
Fernandez: 17/23
Palmer: 23/23

Madueke: 17/23
Sancho: 12/23
Jackson: 21/23

  • Unchanged starting XI from last weekends game against Man City.
  • Neto vs Sancho left-wing is always a question but Maresca does seem to prefer Sancho.

Games started:

Areola: 11/23

Wan-Bissaka: 21/23
Coufal: 7/23
Kilman: 23/23
Mavropanos: 15/23
Emerson: 20/23

Alvarez: 14/23
Soucek: 18/23

Kudus: 18/23
Soler: 10/23
Paqueta: 19/23

  • Unchanged starting XI from Gameweek 23 outside of Mavropanos coming back in for Cresswell.
  • Small chance Bowen is fit, but more likely to start on the bench.

Everton vs Liverpool (Wednesday 7:30pm kick-off):

  • Unchanged starting XI from what we expect vs Leicester. There is a 10 day gap between games so no issues around rest.

  • Jota is near full fitness prior to the Bournemouth game, so with a 10 day gap, Slot’s preferred striker will be fit and ready to go for the Merseyside Derby. Jota also has a great scoring record against Everton.
  • Rest of the side remains unchanged.
  • Gakpo will start left-wing, he is key to Slot’s approach to breaking down low-blocks.
