The Best Gameweek 24 Teams and Fixtures to Target.

Gameweek 24 is the first huge swing of the season and with that, comes massive opportunity to capitalise. Many good teams are coming into unbelievable fixture runs who FPL managers would be wise to capitalise on.

Picking the right assets from each of these teams can be tricky, however. Luckily, we’ve got you covered.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get stuck into the best Gameweek 24 teams and fixtures to target.

Chelsea

Lets get the obvious one out the way first. Chelsea have now won 3 in a row in all comps and seem to be firing on all cylinders. The main debate around Chelsea at the moment is not ‘If we should get Chelsea assets’ it’s ‘Which ones?’.

Best Assets:

  1. Trevoh Chalobah – Maybe slightly controversial to have him at first but we definitely think he is the safest option. He is their most nailed defender by far and has hit DefCon threshold in 7 of his last 9 games. Meaning he should be in line for plenty of 8+ pointers and bonus points. He’s also fairly handy from set-pieces with 3 goals and an assist to his name already.
  2. Enzo Fernandez – It was a close run race between him and Chalobah for the number 1 spot. Even with Palmer on the field Enzo has found himself very involved in the Chelsea attack. He now has 4 goals and an assist in his last 6 starts and is showing no signs of slowing down. If Palmer at any point is set for a multi-game absence Enzo will instatntly jump to number 1.
  3. Joao Pedro – Live a little bit! Don’t live in fear of the minutes fearmongers. ‘He won’t start, he’ll get rotated’. So what, that’s what benches are for. This 4-game stretch would be worth starting any striker in, so when it’s one with his quality the returns could be massive. Even if he misses 1 game, given how well the cheaper assets are performing this year I’d be shocked if everyone didn’t have quality on their bench to cover him.

HMs: Robert Sanchez, Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella

Bournemouth

Bournemouth seem to have found a little bit of form in their past few games, particularly in the attacking department. Putting 2 past Arsenal and Chelsea and 3 past Liverpool and Spurs in their last 5. Averaging 2.2 goals scored a game over that stretch.

Defensively they have definitely been leaky but hopefully their improving fixtures could lead way to some clean sheets. Making their assets an intriguing and exciting risk to take on.

Best assets:

  1. Marcos Senesi – We kick things off with another safe centre back in Marcos Senesi. Senesi leads all defenders in both total Defensive contributions and Defensive contributions per 90 with 13.05. He is also 2nd amongst all defenders for total xGI, behind only Timber. This is in no small part down to his role as Bournemouth’s main deep lying playmaker, which sees him lead the entire league for balls into the final 3rd and balls over the top to strikers. These factors in theory should make him a superb FPL asset but Bournemouth have just been unable to prevent goals at the other end. Their upcoming fixtures should provide ample clean sheet opportunities however, which is why Senesi finds himself in the number 1 spot.
  2. Evanilson – There’s no 2 ways around it, this man is the main striker in a high scoring team with great fixtures. He is also carrying some excellent form into this great run of fixtures, with 3 goals in his last 4 games. He does seem to occasionally get an early bath however, which is why Senesi has pipped him to the number 1 spot.
  3. Amine Adli – With Tavernier’s return date from injury still unclear, Adli looks set for an extended run in the first team. He has more than taken advantage in his first 2 starts, providing an assist against Brighton and scoring the winner against Liverpool. What’s even more intriguing however, is how hard he works off the ball, registering 16 Defensive contributions against Liverpool. This goal threat, DefCon potential, superb fixtures and cheap price of only £5.4m could make Adli a fantastic differential option in the coming weeks.

HMs: Kroupi Jr, James Hill.

Crystal Palace

Let’s kick off with the elephant in the room, Palace’s form. Palace are without a win in their last 8 in the league. However, as we’ve already seen this season, sometimes good fixtures can be handy for snapping bad form. Even still, we would probably exercise caution about going too heavy on Palace assets right now, with the exception of one man.

Best assets:

  1. Daniel Munoz – There’s not much more that needs to be said about this man really. His weekly points totals pre-injury were 8,10,2,6,6,14,1,14. Simply bonkers numbers for a defender. His ability to get points on both ends essentially doubles his ceiling every time they play a team with a bottom 5 defence and attack. A trait shared by 3 of their next 4 opponents. Get him in!
  2. Ismaila Sarr – After Munoz the assets get a bit dicey, but Sarr definitely stands out as one of the better ones. Palace and indeed Sarr in particular could have easily come away with multiple goals against Chelsea but alas it wasn’t to be. Nonetheless it showed positive signs about the Palace attack which had been missing for a while. With Mateta on his way out and Nketiah still injured there is also a strong chance that Sarr finds himself in an even more advanced role in the immediate future.
  3. Chris Richards – For only £4.4m Richards has been providing excellent value for a while now. 8th amongst all defenders for total Defensive Contributions despite missing 4 games, and an average per 90 of 10.64. Richards now has the chance to combine his superb DefCon with some clean sheets as Palace enter into their easiest fixture run of the season.

Man United

Man-United are arguably the form team in the league right now, knocking off City and Arsenal in back-to-back games and scoring 5 goals in the process. They now take this sparkling form into a fixture stretch littered with bad defences, particularly their next 3 games. Much like Cheslea it is not a matter of if we get United assets, but which ones.

Best assets:

  1. Bruno Fernandes – The priority buy in FPL right now and its not close. If you have a Foden or Saka or even Palmer and can get to Bruno in one transfer then I highly recommend doing so. Amongst all players with more than 5 starts this season, Bruno Fernandes currently holds the 2nd highest xGI per 90 of 0.70. 2nd only to Haaland. He also leads the league in assists and is 3rd in total goal contributions despite missing 3 games, averages 10.34 defensive contributions per game, is 2nd amongst all players for bonus points, and plays for one of the league’s most in form attacks. What is not to like?
  2. Bryan Mbeumo – If you are already an Mbeumo owner then his last 2 starts and role for United should get you very excited. Mbeumo was operating out of the number 9 position for United and with arguably the best creator in the league behind him did not look short of service. With elite playmakers like Bruno, Cunha and Amad surrounding him, Mbeumo should continue to receive elite service, boding very well for his return potential.
  3. Amad Diallo – Had Dorgu not got injured Amad may not have been recommended here. However, With Dorgu set to miss around 10 weeks with a hamstring injury, Amad’s starting chances on the wing have increased substantially. Yes there may be the occasional game where United start Sesko then Cunha and Mbeumo on either wing, but given Carrick’s initial set ups we can expect Amad to get the lion’s share of minutes out there. Amad had already amassed an xGI of 0.52 when starting on the wing/one of the 10 spots for United so this could be set to continue. Not bad for a £6.2m asset.
