The Best FPL Gameweek 22 Differentials

With injuries popping up left, right and centre, the opportunity for differential gains on the template has never been more present. There are also plenty of fixture swings and budget options to target, making Gameweek 22’s differential options all the more appealing.

For content’s sake, we will do our best to not repeat any options from Gameweek 21’s differential article to ensure we bring you only fresh, new options every week. So make sure you also check out last week’s article for more great options.

Also, make sure you check out our Predicted Line-Ups hub to ensure that all options are projected to start before locking in any changes.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get stuck into the best Gameweek 22 differentials.

Matheus Nunes – £5.5m

Ownership: 4.4%

With a lot of recent talk surrounding O’Reilly, Matheus Nunes seems to have flown under the radar. Considering he has more attacking returns, a higher Defensive Contributions per 90 and of late, a lower minutes risk, the fact O’Reilly has nearly double his ownership is a confusing one. We can only assume these were managers who moved for O’Reilly a while ago. This discrepancy represents the perfect opportunity to target a City defence who face Brighton, a United in turmoil, Wolves, Spurs and Fulham as 5 of their next 6. Now yes they will be missing the likes of Dias and Gvardiol for the next few weeks, but its hardly like Khusanov and Ake are bad deputies.

Wesley Fofana – £4.4m

Ownership: 0.4%

I’m not sure if you have seen Chelsea’s upcoming fixtures of late but in case you haven’t here you are.

To say this fixture run is unbelievable would be an understatement. Despite Fofana’s injury troubles he does appear to be Chelsea’s starting centre-back when fit, so the fact he was out of their most recent game due to illness and nothing more, suggests he should be in line to start the majority of those games. He also missed the Fulham fixture due to the same illness and Chelsea ended up losing so Chelsea may be keen to bring him back in at the back. Chelsea’s defence has still conceded the 5th lowest number of goals this year so coming into that fixture stretch he could prove very handy. At only £4.4m it’s hardly like you’ll be risking much money either.

James Garner – £5.1m

Ownership: 3.5%

Now this is an interesting one. It’s no secret that Everton have a great run of fixtures in their next 6, particularly for midfielders and attackers. With key absences such as Ndiaye and Dewsbury-Hall, Garner has been thrown into the thick of it from an attacking standpoint. He is on free-kicks, corners and likely penalties. Which for £5.1m is not too shabby at all. However, the real icing on the cake comes from his fantastic DefCon output. Averaging a whopping 11.39 per game, a threshold he has hit in his last 5 outings. A seriously great budget enabler and currently the 9th highest scoring midfielder in FPL.

Nordi Mukiele – £4.3m

Ownership: 9.2%

If you’re looking for a £4.3m and below defender, then Mukiele is your man. He profiles as the most nailed of all the Sunderland defenders and has multiple routes to points. Despite his DefCons drying up after a hot start, he appears back to his ways, hitting the threshold in his last 3 outings. More importantly however he is a part of the Premier League’s 3rd best defence by goals conceded, only 3 more than Man City, even with the 3-0 loss to Brentford. His next 3 fixtures are all fantastic for a defender however, as he takes on 3 of the bottom 6 teams for goals scored this season. Nicely positioning himself in the clean sheet + DefCon sweetspot.

Raul Jimenez – £6.2m

Ownership: 2.0%

With all the hype surrounding Wilson, it’s fair to say that Jimenez’s efforts have been flying under the radar.   He now has 5 returns in his last 7, and with Leeds, Brighton, United and Everton in their next 4, there’s no reason it can’t continue. These have hardly been flukes either, as he carries an xGI per 90 over his last 4 of 0.71. A very sneaky option for those looking to save some cash at the forward position.
