Manchester United Predicted Lineup:

Manchester United Team News:

Speaking on Friday in his pre match press conference Amorim stated that “The squad is fine. We have some doubts, we had some issues during the week with Harry Maguire and Mason Mount. Knocks, but nothing serious. We will see tomorrow. Lisandro Martinez is out. The rest are ready for the game”. It does not sound too serious for Mount and Maguire, and Amorim sounds hopeful. They’ve had a week to recover. I expect Maguire to start if he is cleared. Mount will likely move back to the bench for this one with Sesko starting.

Speaking on Lisandro Martinez Amorim revealed “But he’s near to start the training with the team. Then it depends on the rhythm of Licha if he wins the place or not, that will depend on him. But he’s close to returning to training”. A positive update but not going to impact the team anytime soon.

Casemiro was subbed off just before the hour mark of Sunday’s 2-1 win over Liverpool with an injury. Ugarte replaced him and would almost certainly start in Casemiro’s place if he were not to be fit to start on Saturday.

Dalot has been preferred over Dorgu at LWB in United’s last 2 games which have resulted in consecutive wins. Dalot likely keeps his starting spot.

Mount did start over Sesko in that front 3 against Liverpool but I think against Brighton Amorim will opt for a true striker and start Sesko with Cunha and Mbeumo behind him.

Lammens has replaced Bayindir and is likely the number 1 going forward. It always felt like it would happen eventually.

Manchester United Players to Watch:

Maguire: Minor doubt after picking up a knock. Should be fit to start.

Mount: Picked up a knock. Minor doubt.

Mazraoui: Could return to the squad.

Casemiro: Picked up a knock against Liverpool. May not be fit for the weekend.

Dalot: Started at LWB in United’s last 2 league wins. Should start again.

Lammens: United’s new number 1.

Sesko: Should start against Brighton despite Mount starting against Liverpool.

Brighton and Hove Albion Predicted Lineup:

Brighton Team News:

Speaking on Friday Fabian Hurzeler informed the media that “Kaoru Mitoma is helpful for us in every game, because he has special qualities, always dangerous for opponents. If he is not available I am sure we will find solutions, but he is a game changer for us”. This comes on the heels of Mitoma missing Brighton’s last 2 league games, but Mitoma has been training with the team and I expect him to be fit to start.

Speaking directly about Mitoma, Gruda and Veltman Hurzeler said “They are all close to the team, maybe one or two of them might be available. They don’t have big issues, small issues, nothing serious. I can’t say they will all be available, won’t be available”, so while he is not being definitive it is certainly framed in a positive light. I expect Mitoma to start and Gruda to be on the bench. Veltman is not a starter when fit.

Mitoma (ankle) was not fit in time to make the squad for Newcastle last weekend but was in team training last week and therefore should be good to go and to start against Manchester United this weekend.

Diego Gomez was forced off in the first half in the win over Newcastle due to hip injury. Fabian Hurzeler said in a press conference post game that “I think it’s a hit on his hip so I can’t give any more information. We have to wait for the scan”, and while Brighton wait, we also do for further news but it seems unlikely Gomez starts this weekend against United.

Kadioglu may have taken the starting left-back spot from De Cuyper who relinquished the role due to injury, but after a good performance in a win over Newcastle, Kadioglu should keep his starting spot for at least one more game.

Brighton Players to Watch:

Mitoma: Should return for this game after training last week.

Gruda: Could return but likely starts on the be bench.

Gomez: Unlikely to be fit for Manchester United.

Veltman: Could return against United but won’t start.

Kadioglu: May be the preferred starter at left-back now over De Cuyper.

Manchester United vs Brighton Preview & Predicted Score:

Score Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Brighton
