Leeds Predicted Lineup:

Leeds Team News:

Willie Gnonto (groin) missed out on Leeds’ last game against Nottingham Forest but the international break may have provided the recovery time needed as he was not far away, and he is in contention to make the matchday squad for Villa.

DCL vs Nmecha for who starts up front for Leeds is hard to call. Calvert-Lewin started in the GW10 loss to Brighton, then Nmecha started in the GW11 loss to Forest but did score and that is why I lean Nmecha to start.

Leeds Players to Watch:

Gnonto: International break may have provided the needed recovery time to make the matchday squad.

Nmecha: Started and scored in the loss to Forest.

Calvert-Lewin: Started against Brighton in GW10 but was dropped a week later.

Aston Villa Predicted Lineup:

Aston Villa Team News:

Konsa did not travel with the England national team to Albania due to a calf issue Thomas Tuchel revealed. Konsa picked up an knock in training and will be assessed once he’s back with Aston Villa. He’ll have a week to recover ahead of Sunday’s game vs Leeds and he should be fit to start unless he has a setback or the injury was worse than first thought.

Cash felt discomfort in training while on international duty with Poland and was an unused substitute against Malta for that reason, Poland’s coach revealed “Matty’s replacement is due to a minor injury. He felt quite a lot of discomfort during training. We don’t want to risk the health of the players”, which sounds purely precautionary and I would expect the rest will allow Cash to be fit to start against Leeds.

Onana is dealing with an issue and was left out of the Belgian squad as a precaution, according to the Belgian Football Federation. The two weeks to rest and recover should leave him in good stead to start.

Mings is expected to miss out until 2026 with a hamstring injury, according to Jacob Tanswell of The Athletic.

Aston Villa Players to Watch:

Onana: Left out of Belgium squad as a precaution but should be fit to start against Leeds.

Konsa: Did not travel with England national team due to calf issue, but thought to be minor. Should be fit for Leeds.

Cash: Was unused sub for Poland out of precaution but should be fit to start on Sunday.

Mings: Not expected back until the new year.
