GW32 FPL Leaderboard Tracker: Can anyone catch Erik Ibsen?

Gameweek 32 was a week of wildcards, triple captains, and the kind of diverging fortunes that can reshape a leaderboard in a single Saturday afternoon. With the average score sitting at just 46 points and the highest score in the game reaching 132, the range of outcomes was enormous — and the top five in the world experienced almost every corner of that spectrum. Here is how it all played out.

1st Place — Ibsen (Erik Ibsen) — 75 points | Total: 2,136

Erik Ibsen enters GW33 still sitting comfortably at the summit with 2,136 points and a 33-point cushion over second place. A score of 75 in GW32 — achieved via a Wildcard. Registering a great week, punctuated by a clutch inclusion of Alex Scott in the starting line-up against Arsenal.

In a week where the top five all played chips or made significant structural moves, avoiding a disaster is half the battle. At 2,136 points, Ibsen is now 33 clear of third-placed David Whitlock and 34 clear of fourth-placed Ian Foster — a gap that will feel increasingly comfortable if the teams below him continue to diverge in different directions.

The question heading into GW33 is whether Ibsen’s Wildcard has him optimally positioned for the double gameweek run-in. with Chelsea faltering, O’Reilly getting injured and Bruno, Thiago and Gabriel all not doubling. Although he is in a strong spot, given he still has his bench boost, Free hit and triple Captain Chips in the bag.

2nd Place — Slabhead FC (Simon Evans) — 79 points | Total: 2,103

Simon Evans delivered the second-highest score in the mini-league this week with 79 points via a Triple Captain chip — which unfortunately fell short of the mark.

The Triple Captain went on Bruno Fernandes, who returned 12 points in GW32. Not the haul Evans would have been dreaming of. The gamble on Bruno over other options like Bowen or Thiago will have been based on the Leeds fixture and Bruno’s relentless form, but the thiago and Bowen’s total scores will have likely stung in retrospect.

Elsewhere, Bowen (14), Guéhi (15) and Casemiro (9) all contributed meaningfully. Cunha and Haaland both blanked with 1 and 2 respectively, while Raya (1) and Semenyo (2) were quiet.

Evans sits 33 points behind Ibsen and just one point ahead of David Whitlock in third. This is a close run race and Ibsen is far from out of Evans’ sights, especially with his wildcard and bench boost still to play.

3rd Place — Soucek Yourself Son (David Whitlock) — 93 points | Total: 2,102

The week’s standout performer in the mini-league was David Whitlock, who fired off a staggering 93 points via a Wildcard to leapfrog rivals and close to within a single point of second place. This was the highest score in the top five this week and one of the best scores in the entire game, finishing inside the top 6,038 managers globally.

The inlcusions of Mavropanos, Bowen, Thiago and O’Reilly, seem to capture the best performers from both FH33 teams and FH34 teams.

However, one interesting point of note was the use of the wildcard but the inclusion of only 8 doublers. Although absolutely smashing this week, it will be interesting to see what the plan is for gameweeks 33 and 34.

At 2,102 points and just one behind Simon Evans, Whitlock is now firmly in the title conversation and still has his Free hit and Bench Boost ready to use.

4th Place — The Honest Trundlers (Ian Foster) — 50 points | Total: 2,100

Ian Foster had the top fives’ most frustrating week, scoring just 50 points — 43 fewer than the top 5’s top score — and slipping from what was likely a higher position down to fourth, now sitting just two points behind Whitlock. The margins at the top of this league are extraordinary: positions two, three and four are separated by just three points.

Foster’s score was dragged down by a combination of captain misfire and blanks in key positions, not least the Arsenal defence. Haaland captained and returned just 4 — a blank week by his standards. Thiago perhaps saving what would otherwise have been a bleak week. Foster still has all 4 chips in the bank however, so we can expect him to bounce back in a strong way from next week.

5th Place — DOC’s Red Devils (Ed Jenkinson) — 65 points | Total: 2,094

Ed Jenkinson rounds out the top five with 65 points via a GW32 Wildcard, a decent  score that leaves him 42 points off the top and 8 behind Foster in fourth. The gap to fourth is manageable, but the gap to first feels like a mountain right now.

Again, another example of a wildcard which will only cover 8 doublers in GW33. Perhaps this was the approach…So what if the players are doubling. If it came at the cost of these stand out GW32 scorers, then perhaps it was not worth it.

Jenkinson now only has his Free Hit chip remianing.

The Mini-League Picture

What makes this mini-league so compelling heading into GW33 is the tightness at positions two through four. Evans, Whitlock and Foster are separated by just three points — meaning any one of them could be in second, third or fourth after a single gameweek. Ibsen at the top has a slightly more comfortable cushion of 33 points, but with Wildcard teams now locked in for rivals below, the pressure will only grow.

The chip picture is equally significant. Whitlock and Jenkinson have played their Wildcards this week. Evans has used his Triple Captain. The remaining chips — Bench Boosts, Free Hits — will become crucial weapons in the final seven gameweeks, and whoever times them best in a potential double gameweek is likely to emerge as champion.

GW32 had drama, differentiation, and massive swings. GW33 promises more of the same.
