As we enter the final week of the season, all of our FPL dilemmas become season defining. How to win your mini league in 2 hours? Who is the best Saliba replacement? Wondering what to do with Isak, Cunha, Eze among others? SamFPL has you covered on all of these key questions and more as you look to close the season strong!
Finally we have reached the final Sunday of the season. In a matter of 90 minutes we will witness 10 games at the same time and this is the shortest GW of the season. You can win your mini league and steal everything if you have a clear strategy and plan. We will have:
I highly recommend making transfers as late as possible as you may get news that your transferred player is benched. No need for unnecessary -4 at this critical stage of the competition.
Wait for leaks before making transfers. I will share reliable information as soon as I reach it.
Prioritise attackers over defenders as GW38 historically delivers more goals and less clean sheets. Start only 3 defenders in your formation. 4 or 5 starting defenders is completely unacceptable!
Regardless of your position in the league, leading or chasing, I believe you should target the best picks for expected points.
It’s advisable to target some differentials if you are chasing but don’t load up on many of them. Going very differential may backfire. The template has been template for a reason. Keep your squad balanced. In addition, you should understand your rival and predict his transfers, based on his injuries, history and preferences.
Once again, Final Gameweek has low chances of Clean Sheets. It’s been always in short supply of CS. Targeting Defenders should be attacking wing backs for possibility of attacking returns. Personally, I don’t think it’s an urgent move for me as long as I own other 4 playable Defenders. Keep him on bench and prioritise making transfers on attackers. If you don’t have 3 defenders to start, I recommend his teammate Ben White or a Newcastle defender to replace the French defender.
Isak hasn’t started last week and a big doubt for final week of the season as he hasn’t trained yet but I recommend waiting for leaks prior to the deadline before selling him. His best replacement should be Evanilson. Leicester have conceded more goals than any other team away from home this season while Bou is one of the best attacking sides at home. He has low ownership and is a great differential to help you gain rank. His good form and fixture make it the obvious forward transfer to make.
I understand that Cunha has been very disappointing recently and couldn’t complete 60 minutes in back to back blanks since many managers bought him. Meanwhile, Strand Larsen is a new concern for Pereira ahead of Wolves’ final match against Brentford and this may help Cunha start and boost his minutes. Brentford isn’t as good defensively as their attacking quality and should concede some goals at the final Sunday and Cunha should be involved. He is a hold if he is confirmed to start
Crystal Palace has beaten City and celebrated with their fans last week. Will Liverpool face this hungover? I don’t think targeting a team against the champions a good strategy because we have simply many better picks at this stage.
Forwards to replace Mateta are Wissa, Evanilson and Welbeck
While I consider Saka, Bowen, and Kluivert the best in midfield.
