SamFPL is back doing what he does best. Tackling all those tricky dilemmas facing FPL managers. Palmer Cap? Cunha, Gakpo, Dango and much more. Don’t miss out.
A new game week is here, and there is no surprise for FPL managers as we’ve adapted to this quick turnaround on many occasions recently. We’re going to watch the FA Cup 5th round, which will give us more information and updates about blank GW34 and the potential double GW33 and DGW36.
On the other hand, GW29 will be a small blank week for Liverpool, Newcastle, Villa, and Crystal Palace. All four teams won’t feature. Salah, Isak, Rogers, and Mateta will get 0 points in this BGW!
I’m going to mention a few tips to navigate this critical period that can significantly affect your overall rank and season:
Last time Isak faced Liverpool in GW14, I decided to bench him. He had had an injury prior to this game, and I thought Liverpool was his toughest game of the season. If I didn’t bench him against them, then when would I bench him?
That turned out to be a big joke! I watched him score and get an assist while sitting on my bench, missing his 11 points. I don’t think I’ll repeat this mistake again! Isak has proved he is a season keeper and fixture-proof. He is a premium asset, and when he is fit, he shouldn’t be benched.
Unfortunately, Gakpo couldn’t start the last three games for Liverpool and came off the bench last GW. Some managers couldn’t sell him and kept him on the bench, as Slot revealed that he was a ‘close call’ for the trip to Etihad Stadium. He started from the bench, got some minutes at the end of the game, and should be fit for the Newcastle game. He may start, but I’m not sure about his minutes. He could get an early substitution, as Slot needs him for PSG next week!
Cunha is in great form and has many routes to points. Three goals in the last three weeks for the Brazilian support the idea of starting him at home.
Dango should start as well. The Brighton game will be an open one, and he may get involved! I’d start Dango and Matheus over Gakpo.
The English international has been very disappointing recently, blanking again against Aston Villa despite the early lead. His blank is his fourth in five games. He was a bit unlucky and missed a big chance. Personally, I consider him a great captaincy option in the next two weeks. He has arguably the easiest two fixtures of the season coming up, and he should punish managers who sold him.
Suddenly, we found Evanilson on the bench against Wolves last game week. He didn’t get a minute, and I don’t think he will start the next game. He will gradually start getting minutes, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts in blank GW29.
He is going to be a huge threat to Dango’s minutes and position on the pitch, as he will return as LW when Evanilson starts. Dango will be the striker in GW27, and it’s going to be an open game vs. BHA. I’ll definitely keep him and hope he starts in BGW29, even if it’s as LW. Simply put, it’s a wait-and-see.
Rogers blanked again in GW26 and was subbed off with an injury. Even if you’re using your FH in GW29, you should sell him. He is injured, and his price will drop. He may end up missing two out of the next three game weeks. I can’t find any reason to keep him. Kluivert and Bowen are good midfielders to replace him with.
