We are now entering crunch time in the season. Now although the season cannot be won during these upcoming weeks, it can certainly be lost. Falling too far behind now is far less ideal than it is near the beginning of the season.
At the same time, this also makes chasing rank extremely important.
Also, given they are differentials, they can often run the risk of not having the most secure minutes at times, particularly when fixtures get congested. So make sure you check out our Predicted Line Ups for news on if players will start.
Also make sure you check out our Gameweek 14 Captaincy article for more great differential captaincy options.
Before we get started, we will just clarify that there are plenty of other great differentials in our Gameweek 13 and Gameweek 12 differential articles who we will spare you the liberty of repeating. So make sure you check those out for even more great differential options.
We will be aiming to post a completely new set of players every week for the differential series moving forward
Anyway, without further ado, lets get straight into our favourite FPL Gameweek 14 Differentials.

The first name on our list is non other than Bruno Guimaraes. Newcastle seem to have finally found their feet with the return of Hall and Livramento, and have decent fixtures right up until GW22. So Bruno could be a long term set and forget. With 7 returns already this season, Bruno has been his typical creative force going forward. However much like the other Bruno, he also carries in a significant DefCon potential, averaging 11 per 90 over his past 4 games.

If you were one of the lucky free hitters who brought this man in then congratulations. Despite having low production all year, the one thing Foden has had on his side has been super consistent minutes. Normally rare for a pep team. However, what Foden has had in his last few games, has been a significant increase in his attacking involvement. Averaging 0.54 xGI per 90 in his most recent 7 games compared with his overall season per 90 of 0.46. His 2 goals vs Leeds were no flukes and he was due, his attacking involvement is ramping up again.

Newcastle’s defence still sits 2nd in the entire league for lowest xGA after Arsenal. Now granted, a few weeks ago it looked pretty dire. But since the return of Hall and Livramento, they have looked like a completely different beast. No player has staked their claim for a starting spot quite like Thiaw has. Thiaw has started 9 in a row for the Magpies now, and has been head and shoulders their best defender this year. But one thing that was on full display against Everton was Thiaw’s ability in the air.
Averaging a higher xGI per 90 than aerial threats such as Van Dijk and Gabriel at 0.17. Newcastle seems to look for him in the box and given how big and physical the rest of Newcastle’s team is, its likely we seem them grab plenty of goals this season from corners and set pieces. They now play Spurs, Burnley and Sunderland in their next 3 and he costs under £5m. Newcastle’s most nailed CB.

Losing to Brighton does not mean Forest are not decent again. Brighton currently sit 5th in the league and are flying. Speaking of flying, so is Anderson. Forest’s have a good next 4 fixtures, with Wolves, Everton, Spurs and Fulham. But more importantly, Anderson is proving as safe as houses. He leads the entire league in Defensive Contributions by 15 and has even been getting more involved in the attack with 2 returns in his last 3 and his occasional presence on pens.
He has returned a minimum of 4 points in 5 of his last 6 games and arguably has the safest floor in the entirety of FPL averaging a mind boggling 13.46 DefCons per game.
Ownership: 1.1%

No doubt the time to move for Collins will be after this week’s fixture against Arsenal but that doesn’t mean he’s not an excellent option for the upcoming game weeks beside that. Brentford’s defence is criminally slept on, as they currently sit 4th for lowest xGA. Collins has also ramped up his Defcon output, averaging 12.33 per 90 over the last 6 games.
But most importantly, following the Arsenal match, they then face struggling Spurs, Leeds and the Wolves in their next 3. All great fixtures for a defender at the moment.
