Game Week 29: FPL GOAT’s FH29 Team Reveal
  • The Transfer Wizard is a great tool for customised transfer recommendations based on budget and position.
  • FPL Player Rankings also provides clear lists of the best FPL players across each position for budget and premium

Everything you need to know about free hit for GW29 and players to target

  • 1. LIV, AVL, NEW and CRY are the teams that blank in GW29.
  • 2. NEW and CRY have a DGW in GW32.
  • 3. CRY and AVL are likely to have another DGW depending on the FA cup results.

FH in 29 is really team dependent, who should play FH in GW29?

  • 1. If your team has less than 8 playing players after making transfers consider playing FH.
  • 2. If you have 8 and more playing players than don’t play your FH as there will be better and more rewarding GWs to play the chip.

Pros & cons of FH in GW29

PROS:

  • 1. LIV, NEW, AVL, CRY have a BGW in GW29, you get to keep them for their amazing run of games after the blank and not bother removing anyone of them to field a decent team without FH.
  • 2. Non free hitters are likely to sell some of Salah, Isak, Palmer, TAA to fund Haaland. Everyone has a lot of value tied in these players so if you use your FH you will have these players back for GW30 without sweating about getting them back at a significantly higher price.
  • 3. NEW and CRY have a DGW32 so you can keep these players.

CONS:

  • 1. This might not be a good GW to free hit cz it may not have much upside cz the best teams are either not playing or playing against each other like LIV, CHE, ARS, CRY, NEW.
  • 2. A potential DGW33 could be a huge week to free hit as a minimum of 6 teams are going to have DGW’s and it could really be a massive week for FH.

Teams & Players to Target:

GOALKEEPERS:

1. Sels: Currently the goalkeeper with the most clean sheets in the league with 12 and is top 5 for save percentage as well.

2. Pickford: Everton have improved a lot under the new manager and Pickford has to be the one to be considered.

West Ham haven’t got going under Graham Potter and there’s a big chance for a lot of saves and potentially a clean sheet from Pickford.

DEFENDERS:

1. Aina/Milenkovic/Neco: Forest are top for clean sheets in the league alongside Liverpool with 12. Ipswich are also the team with the 2nd least goals conceded at home with just 10 in 14 games, double Forest defence will be very popular this week. Aina, Milenkovic, Neco in that order of preference depending on your budget.

2. Gvardiol: Brighton just have been battering every team lately and I don’t expect a clean sheet from City but there are enough chances for Gvardiol to get an attacking return.

3. Mykolenko/Tarkowski: Everton haven’t been sound defensively at the moment but nor do West Ham with their attack they have scored just a goal a game in the last 5GWs.

4. Gabriel: He has been really quite lately and haven’t produced anything from corners and set pieces for a long time now and nor did Arsenal. Arsenal have conceded just 3 goals in the the last 5GWs and have been tighter defensively. Chelsea are not going to be easy opponents but get Gabriel as a hedge as he will be pretty highly owned by the free hitters and the ones who are not on FH too.

MIDFIELDERS:

1. Bruno Fernandes: Should be the first name in your team alongside Haaland and Wood, Leicester are 3rd worst for goals conceded at home this season

2. Mbeumo: He has been kind of a silent troll this season, blanks for 4-5GWs and gets a double digit haul to redeem himself. Bournemouth have conceded 8 goals in the last 5GWs and haven’t kept a clean sheet so there’s a big opportunity for Mbeumo to exploit them.

3. Kluivert/Semenyo: Brentford have conceded 9 big chances in the last 5GWs but have been lucky to concede only 4 goals in that time. I predict it to be a high scoring game with Kluivert being the heart of it. Semenyo went off in the final minutes of the 90 last week which was thought of as an injury, need to get some updates on him before you get him in.

4. Gibbs-White/Elanga: Ipswich have been one of the worst teams in the league and more so at home, the midfield of Gibbs-White and Elanga can easily exploit them. I like Gibbs-White a bit more as he is on penalties and some set pieces, Elanga is an easy pick if you don’t have that budget for MGW.

5. Son: He plays Fulham who have conceded 7 goals in the last 5GWs and haven’t kept a clean sheet. Son has a goal and 2 assists in the last 5GWs and with his runs can easily exploit the wingback system that Fulham play at times.

6. Bowen: 2 goals in the last 5GWs and will be a nice differential for GW29, he plays a Everton team who have conceded 7 goals and 10 big chances in the last 5GWs.

Note: I don’t consider Palmer as an option because he really is a flat track bully and ghosts vs good teams. You can still get him as a hedge considering his ownership.

FORWARDS:

1. Haaland: I still don’t think he is worth the money but he is one of the best options for this particular GW. Probably the best captaincy option as well alongside Wood.

2. Wood: Ipswich have conceded the 2nd most goals at home this season, easy captaincy option if you don’t want to captain Haaland.

3. Beto: He has been sensational under David Moyes, he is top for big chances for the past few GWs when he has started games regularly.
