Salah Captain, or no?

NFO is currently in the top 3 teams for defensive metrics such as xGC and big chances conceded. They’re also top for clean sheets as well.

On the flip side, Liverpool is one of the best attacking team this season. It’s going to be a great test for both teams. When we look at the reverse fixture in game week 4, Liverpool failed for the first and only time to score in the league against Forrest. It should in theory be a low ceiling game for Mo. However, The Egyptian king can easily punish non-captainers and get his usual double digit score.

Personally, I believe this week is one of the few chances to gamble against Salah and it may result in a decent green arrow. Haaland and Isak should therefore be in your consideration.

Rogers or Wood on bench?

NFO registered only 0.44 xG against Liverpool in GW4 and it was very tough game for them. I think Slot will be cautious this time and make it more a lot harder for Wood and Co to return.

If you won’t bench Wood against the Reds then when? I think his effective ownership will be decreased as many managers will bench him and non-owners will avoid buying him ahead of this game.

At the other end of the table, Everton have announced Sean Dyche has left the club and this should affect their defensive solidarity as Moyes prioritizes his more attacking style, as evidenced with West ham United. I’m going to start Rogers ahead of Wood, to be honest.

Jesus replacements:

– Over the past 6 game weeks, Alexander Isak has scored eight goals and provided an assist, securing his position as managers’ the go-to forward in Fantasy.

During that period, the Newcastle United star has accumulated 58 points, which is at least 24 points more than any other player in his position. His increasing ownership to 54% proves that he is the most essential forward to own. Check out EO stats over at LiveFPL.

  • Wood should be the next one to put in consideration, but I don’t think it’s ideal to bring an asset ahead of his game against Liverpool. Check out the Opta Match Centre to view all upcoming fixtures before making transfers.

  • Joao Pedro is the best forward under £6.0m. He offers penalties and secure minutes as a 90 min man.
  • Mateta returned last week, and the fixtures should help him regain his form as he ended last season as one of the highest quality picks in FPL. Next 3 for the eagles are very tempting.

What to do with Diaz?

The Colombian international has registered only 1 return in 3 game weeks and couldn’t remain for more than 60 min in 2 out of them.

Slot cares about his players’ fitness and rotates his attackers, he can be benched easily or get just 60 min in next 2 successive game weeks. I think selling him to Gordon or Mbeumo should pay off for long term.

But Gordon or Mbeumo?

Gordon 3 (H) games and SOU (A) in next 4, and is on penalties when is Isak isn’t on the pitch. On the other hand, I think it’s 2 game week early for Bryan as he faces City and the Reds in next 2 games. He can easily score from the pen spot against any of them, but he has lower ceiling than Gordon during this spell. However, Mbeumo has shown some outstanding consistency in his attacking returns throughout the season, and I wouldn’t be selling him either. Mbeumo is simply a no buy – no sell.
