Game Week 20: SamFPL’s Key Questions

Keep up to date with the best budget and premium options on Ingenuity’s FPL Player Rankings Section.

This section is going to be very essential to 5.5% of Top 100k in Fantasy. They own all of Timber, Rogers, and Cunha! It’s been quite frustrating to watch Rogers getting his 5th YC in GW19 and being suspended for the easiest game of the season against Leicester at home. A huge loss to his owners! Meanwhile, Cunha was given a two-match ban by the FA, ruling him out of next game week at home to Nottingham Forest and the FA Cup third-round tie away to Bristol City. We can actually treat it as an only one game week ban.

Firstly, I’ll start by the attackers, I’ll talk about both Rogers and Cunha. In my opinion, if you own both, you should prioritize selling Cunha over Rogers for some reasons:

  • Both has been phenomenal this season and nailed but I see Cunha a bit lucky by scoring from a corner kick or deflections.
  • I trust Aston Villa stats and fixtures more than Wolves.
  • Rogers is more than 1.5 cheaper and can be kept easily on bench.
  • We have many good forwards with decent form and fixtures. Meanwhile, the’re no standout picks in midfield apart from Salah and Palmer. For 5.5 or less, it’s much more difficult to get a worthy bargain.

Cunha Replacements:

Isak and Wood:

Arguably the best and most essential forwards to own. It’s very simple. Get Isak and Wood in your team right now. Alongside these 2 options, I’ll be looking for only the following few picks:

If you’re looking for a one game week punt, No one can ignore that Watkins should destroy Leicester City at home. But when Durn is available after suspension it’s going to be very tricky to predict Olli’s minutes again.

Jesus:

After his double-digit score on Wednesday night, The Brazilian has scored 6 goals in 4 matches so far and has been brilliant recently. He is in great form and Arsenal has good schedule by facing the leaky BHA and TOT in next 2. He has proved that he is important for Arteta and shouldn’t be dropped soon.

Jiminez:

In case you can’t afford Jesus, Raul is going to be my budget pick for next 3 weeks. His minutes aren’t secured but he should offer good value during this period by considering the cost benefit relation.

Mateta: has good schedule after CHE game but it probably isn’t optimal to get him now.

Timber?

I’ve already mentioned that Arsenal fixtures are decent from attacking perspective and good enough to bring G. Jesus but from defensive point of view, ARS may get only 1 CS during GW21-24 after Timber’s back from his suspension. In last 5 weeks, Arsenal have provided us with only 2 clean sheets. If your team allows you to bench him, then do it. If you can’t keep him, I believe selling him isn’t a bad idea at all.

  • Alexander-Arnold and Gabriel are the standout defenders to pick currently and we have many cheaper options that have higher upsides and better fixtures than the suspended Timber.
  • Castagne for only 4.2 is a bargain. He has been very advanced alongside Robinson as wingbacks in 3-43 formation for a 0.8 less and has 2 returns in his last 3 starts, 1 Cs and 1 assist.  Just look at his next 3 fixtures! You’ll leave the article to buy him.

  • Hall and Munoz are also some explosive assets to own and highly recommended going forward.

Keep or sell?

Jackson:

The Senegalese forward has been disappointing recently, expected benching during the quick turnaround and 3 consecutive blanks. I think Maresca has learned how important he is to the team and the schedule may help him avoid any benching in the next few fixtures. His stats are still good and next 5 weeks aren’t too tough to stop him or Chelsea from scoring. I don’t own him in my team but I recommend to keep him and reassess.

Amad?

Manchester United has been awful after their win over City and got back-to-back losses against WOL and NEW. Losing their talisman, Bruno Fernandes has a great impact on them but it’s Liverpool next! I don’t recommend starting Amad and I don’t think it’s an urgent sell. Personally, I’m going to bench him vs. Liverpool before giving him another chance Sou in GW21.

Maddison?

The English midfielder has been decent this season when he starts and have combination of set pieces threat in addition to open play. Spurs started the tournament well, but their form has been declining recently. On the other hand, Maddison has lost his starting position and rarely gets included in Tottenham’s starting Xl. Next 3 opponents are solid defenses, and I don’t think it’s worthy to keep him till now.
