Game Week 17: BigManBakar’s Best Differentials

With so many great options avaibale in FPL right now, cutting through the noise can be very tricky. Luckily BigManBakar has you covered with his best differential options ahead of
Game Week 17.

Game Week 17: BigManBakar’s Best Differentials

Best differentials to own for Game week 17

For our purposes, a differential refers to a player owned by around 15% or less of FPL managers. All options can also be found in the Player Rankings section where you can see how they stack up for the next 5 game weeks.

1) Raul Jimenez (Ownership: 6.0%, Price: £5.5m)

If you are in the market for a Matheus Cunha replacement this week and already own the popular Joao Pedro, my recommendation would be to get Raul Jimenez. His minutes aren’t great, but he’s expected to start most fixtures and crucially, has a great entry point at home to Southampton this week.

Fulham’s games are fairly well spaced apart from Chelsea, which could be the game where Muniz gets the start. Fulham are putting up some healthy xG numbers this season, so even if he is subbed early in most games, at his price, I’d still think he’d be good enough to offer value. He also rotates really well with commonly owned 8th attackers such as Rogers and Semenyo. Check out the fixtures section to view this rotation.

2Antonee Robinson (Ownership: 19.5%, Price: £4.8m)

Robinson’s ownership surpasses the differential benchmark, but a large proportion of that seems to belong to inactive managers who jumped on him earlier in the season. We’ve now reached a point where Robinson could be a worthwhile asset again, especially for FPL managers looking to sell the suspended Rayan Ait Nouri.

Robinson is in the top five defenders for expected assists this season and even more importantly, playing in a Fulham defence that is ranked 5th for fewest xG conceded.

3Jurriën Timber (Ownership: 7.5%, Price: £5.7m)

I’m backing Jurrien Timber to get a good score this week. Arsenal are ranked first in the league for xG conceded this season so loading up on their defence has already proven to be a shrewd strategy.

Priced lower than Saliba and Gabriel, Timber has been operating in attacking areas and has already delivered two attacking returns recently — one versus Sporting in the Champions League and another in Gameweek 14 against Manchester United. With his spot seemingly secure in Ben White’s absence, Timber should offer excellent value in the times to come.

4) Antoine Semenyo (Ownership: 6.2%, Price: £5.6m)

I’m genuinely startled to see so many FPL managers sell Semenyo. I understand that the competition for places in our teams is cut-throat but it baffles me as to why anyone would sell a £5.6m nailed-on midfield enabler playing in a team that is ranked 3rd for xG this season.

Bournemouth look well-equipped to score regularly in most fixtures and have a decent run of fixtures to follow. Semenyo is operating at 0.5 xGi per 90 this season and has surprisingly, attempted more shots in the league than anyone barring Erling Haaland this season!

5) Levi Colwill (Ownership: 5.0%, Price: £4.6m)

With Chelsea’s promising fixture run until Gameweek 22, Colwill stands out as a reliable option. Bookmakers anticipate Chelsea to improve defensively – they are ranked in the top five teams for clean sheet probability in four of the next six fixtures.

Colwill offers both security of starts and affordability at £4.5m in the Chelsea defence.
