Game Week 14: SamFPL’s Key Questions

The legend SamFPL is back with one of the best Key Questions you will ever read. He tackles every question possible ahead of Game Week 14. I assure you this is not one to miss out!

Game Week 14: SamFPL’s Key Questions

First of all, be careful with your selection and pay more attention to the quick turnaround, as having three game weeks in a one-week duration will result in some rotations in addition to some injuries.

  • You should simply avoid any injury-prone assets or
  • Any players with low expected minutes.
  • Have a deep squad and a reliable bench.

Make owning Salah, Palmer, and Saka your current top priority!

Salah has produced 133 points in 13 game weeks, his best-ever start to an FPL season with 9 double-digit returns. He scores against any team and is fixture-proof. The Egyptian king was the most captained in GW13 despite facing the champions! He has also become the most owned asset in the game.

After his double-digit haul vs. Villa, Palmer travels to SOU, which is missing 3 of their main starting 11 due to yellow card accumulation. Dibbling, Downes, and Harwood-Bellis will be suspended vs. Chelsea! He is arguably the best captain in GW14, while Saka faces Man United and Salah travels to Newcastle.

Saka contributed a goal and a hat trick of assists vs. WHU. The English winger scored 18 points away from home after delivering a goal and an assist last game week and repeated his great performance in UCL. I believe Odegaard’s return has boosted Arsenal’s threat and domination recently.

Mbeumo Replacement!

Once again, Mbeumo looked disappointingly wide and couldn’t register any shots last game week. I was frustrated to watch Brentford winning by 4 goals without any involvement from him. He’s had just 2 shots in the box from open play over the last 6 game weeks, with only 1 shot in 4 games. He has a brutal schedule until Game Week 22 and is an easy sell for me.

First, sell Mbeumo for one of Salah, Palmer, or Saka. If you already have all of them, then think about the following recommendations:

  • The Hammers’ main man, Bowen, has registered 3 goals and 5 assists so far. His next 5 games are amazing, and he faces 2 promoted sides in that spell.

  • The Japanese international, Mitoma, has registered 3 goals and 3 assists, producing back-to-back goals vs. SOU and BOU in the last 2 game weeks. He also recorded 2 big chances for scoring vs. SOU, and the upcoming fixtures will help him maintain this stunning form.

  • Semenyo is back available after serving a one-match suspension for 5 yellow cards accumulated in the WOL game. His next 3 fixtures are tempting, and it’s obvious that Bournemouth and Semenyo have significantly improved recently.

Best Replacement for Konaté?

I’ll target the top 2 teams for xGC, Liverpool and Arsenal, as both teams have favorable fixtures as well. Alexander-Arnold, who dropped to 6.8m, will be the first pick after coming back from injury and registering 8 points, including 2 bonus points vs. Man City. I also recommend Virgil for better fitness and consistency.

From Arsenal, I believe Gabriel and Timber are their best picks. Gabriel is the ultimate pick, but Timber offers decent value at 5.5m. His link-up with Saka is great, and he had a disallowed goal vs. NFO and an assist in UCL.

Personally, I picked Timber alongside Gabriel earlier before the GW13 deadline and consider Alexander-Arnold at the top of my watchlist for upcoming fixtures.

If you’re looking for cheaper defenders, I recommend going for one of Estupiñán or Colwill due to the favorable schedule.

Isak Replacement

  • Jackson
No one can ignore that Jackson is having one of his best seasons and is in incredible form. Senegal’s forward has 12 goal involvements this season. After the internationals, he recorded 3 returns in 2 games, and his amazing schedule makes him a top transfer target for Isak owners.
  • Cunha / Pedro
I think both offer great value, and you should plan to own them. If you own Pedro, get Cunha and vice versa. Larsen is attractively priced, but Cunha has better consistency, to be honest.
  • Evanilson is another cheap forward to consider, but owning Semenyo puts me off.

Keep or Sell

  • Raúl Jiménez
After staying on the pitch for 80 minutes this weekend, I think his minutes are going to be reduced in the midweek. In addition, his schedule is very tough. We have many cheap forwards to replace him.

  • Rogers
Despite being disappointing recently, I’m keeping him at least for the next 2 fixtures. Back-to-back home encounters with teams like Brentford and Southampton are a dream. Wait for the next 2 games and reassess.

  • Bruno
After getting 2 assists yesterday, I highly consider selling Bruno. United’s next 3 games are very tough, and I’m quite sure that owning Bruno for 8.5m means you miss one of Saka, Palmer, or Salah. The plan is to sell him for your missed premium midfielder.
