Game Week 13: SamFPL’s Key Questions

The notorious SamFPL is back answering all your key questions ahead of Game Week 13. Joao Pedro or Cunha? time to sell Wood? Saka or Palmer, What to do with Brentford assets and more! Don’t miss out.

Game Week 13: SamFPL’s Key Questions

Keep or Sell?

Brentford (Mbeumo – Wissa – Flekken)

Mbeumo looked wide and didn’t register any shots last game week. In addition, he’s had just 2 shots in the box from open play over the last five game weeks. Igor Thiago is back from his injury and may affect Wissa’s minutes soon.

Meanwhile, Brentford has a brutal run that lasts all the way through until game week 22. The Cameroon international sits fourth among the most-owned players in FPL, with ownership of 41 percent, and hundreds of thousands of these owners will likely sell him after the Leicester game, causing his price to drop. Leicester City should be the last chance for Mbeumo or Wissa!

On the other hand, Flekken recorded his first clean sheet of the season last game week against Everton in a goalless draw. If you own Flekken alongside Fabianski, I think it’s worth avoiding wasting a free transfer on a goalkeeper move and keeping him, as you can start the West Ham goalkeeper to cover his tough fixtures.

Keep Wood or Sell to Cunha/Pedro?

You might have been shocked about Wood being benched last game week, but it was just precautionary due to traveling and “jet lag” after the international break.

Wood had a disallowed assist after being substituted and looked promising. He faces the newly promoted Ipswich at home, and he should start and return! I’d prefer to keep him and find any other route to get Cunha or Pedro.

If he is your only route to them, wait for one more game week. GW14 is in the midweek, and many updates could happen in the next couple of days. Getting into it with an extra free transfer will be a huge advantage!

Cunha or Pedro?

Last game week, I advised you to own at least 2 out of Cunha, Pedro, Isak, and Jackson, and thankfully 3 out of them returned and recorded double-digit hauls! This time we’re going to be more specific. Who is the top priority transfer—Pedro or Cunha?

Pedro has been praised again by his manager, Fabian Hurzeler: “He makes a difference for us. He proved it the last game, he proved it today, so hopefully he’ll continue this.” He is attractively priced and has an amazing run of fixtures. Meanwhile, Cunha has scored seven goals and supplied three assists. He is the second top-scoring forward, as only Haaland has more points than him. I think Cunha offers better consistency, fitness, and minutes during the incoming hectic schedule. Both are great and should be at the top of your transfer targets, but Cunha should be prioritized.

Saka or Palmer?

Alongside Salah, Saka and Palmer are in the top 3 players for points per match, with 7.3 ppm and 7.2 ppm, respectively.

Saka delivered a goal and assist last game week and repeated his great performance in the UCL again, as Odegaard’s return boosted Arsenal’s threat and domination recently. Meanwhile, Palmer blanked against Leicester, as Madueke blocked his big chance off the line.

If you don’t have Haaland, you should get both. You will be able to afford them and enjoy the points.
If you can afford only one, you should surprisingly prioritize Palmer due to the following reasons:

Palmer’s fixtures are slightly easier, and he has no UEFA Champions League participation, which gives him more rest and better fitness during the hectic schedule. Palmer is arguably the best captain in GW14 vs. SOU when Saka faces Man United and Salah travels to Newcastle.
