When is the Next FM26 Patch? New Hotfix Release Date Confirmed

Sports Interactive has been keeping a steady stream of updates coming for Football Manager 26 (FM26), and after the recent 26.0.4 patch, fans are naturally wondering: what’s next, and when will it arrive? Here’s a breakdown based on SI’s announcements and their usual update rhythm.

SI postpone new patch update

Sports Illustrated have made the decision to postpone patch update 26.0.06 that was supposed to be rolled out today (19th Nov) on the Steam Public Beta Track due to a knock on performance issue discovered during the making of the new build set. Disappointing from SI once again!

Confirmed date for new Football Manager 26 patch on Steam:

The Sports Interactive Community Admins have confirmed another patch, patch 26.0.06, is set to drop on Wednesday 19th November, although the specific time of release is yet to be confirmed. The SI Community statement read as follows “Tomorrow (19th November) will see the next Football Manager 26 game update rolled out via the Steam Public Beta Track. Following successful testing, this will then be made available in full on Steam, Epic, and Microsoft Stores later this week”, so Steam users will get first access and the ability to test over 200 new updates out and allow SI to receive some community feedback before full launch of the new patch on all platforms.

When we receive word of a slated time for the update, we will return right here to provide you with that update!

Football Manager 26 Console and Mobile Next Updates:

The SI Community admins also informed us that “On Friday (21st November) an update will be coming to Football Manager 26 Console. Subject to the submissions process, updates for both Football Manager 26 Touch and Football Manager 26 Mobile will also come early next week”. So if you purchased Football Manager 26 Console then Friday 21st is the day you will receive the latest patch updates on Console, again with an unconfirmed time the update will be publicly available. If you are a Football Manager 26 Mobile user, you unfortunately will be waiting until early next week for your update, so likely Monday 24th November but there is a chance you could be waiting until Tuesday 25th.

Predicting the Next Football Manager 26 hotfix

Sports Interactive has confirmed that the next PC update is already in the works. Based on their past cadence and the scope of 26.0.4, we can make some educated predictions:

  • Timing: Given the previous rapid sequence of fixes and the fact that 26.0.4 covered most of the major issues, the next patch is likely to focus on minor tweaks and community-requested adjustments. Expect a release sometime between mid- and late-November 2025, roughly around November 18–25.

  • Scope: While smaller than the last patch, the upcoming update could address lingering match engine quirks, database issues, and UI refinements.

The Last Patch: 26.0.4

Released on the 5th November, the 26.0.4 patch tackled over 300 fixes across gameplay, AI, match engine stability, and quality-of-life improvements. It addressed a variety of community-reported issues, from scouting bugs to UI glitches.

Console, Touch, and Mobile Updates

For those playing FM26 on consoles, Touch, or Mobile, SI has announced that updates are expected very soon, usually within a week of the latest PC patch. These updates are subject to the respective platform’s submission and approval process, but they should arrive within days, keeping all platforms largely in sync.

What This Means for Managers

For PC players, the takeaway is clear: 26.0.4 solved many headaches, but if you’ve been waiting for additional fixes or subtle gameplay adjustments, patience is key. The next update should bring further polish without drastically changing the core game.

Console players can expect similar improvements in the near term, ensuring that both new and veteran managers have a smooth FM26 experience.
