We take you through all of the best and most interesting Football Manager 26 saves I found from scouring FM YouTube!
As we near the release of Football Manager 26, with the release date 2 weeks away now, we really need to start considering what saves we want to attempt when download our beautiful new game with all it’s anticipated improvements and new features! We have taken you through the hardest FM saves and some fallen giants to save (pun intended) but we thought we need to cover all of our bases before the release of the game, so we scoured Football Manager YouTube for some great save ideas which we will cover below. Big shout out to FM Scout, DarkHorseFM, Clayts, and YGormy for these great FM 26 save ideas and the variety of saves they have suggested. We found brilliant save ideas that range from journeymen saves to multi club saves to build a nation, all the way to park to prem saves they have provided tons of great save ideas that you can check out on their YouTube pages, but without further ado here are the best save ideas I found on Football Manager YouTube:
Stabæk Fotball:
Type of FM save: Build a nation
Stabaek have recently been relegated to the second division of Norwegian football. They are famous for producing excellent youth talents such as the likes of Antonio Nusa who currently plays for Leipzig. The club still have some hot young prospects in the current squad such as Sebastian Olderheim and in the youth academy also. Build Stabaek up using it’s brilliant scouting network and on the way back up to the Eliteserien you can also help build the Norwegian national team up into a powerhouse who could actually win a Euro’s or World Cup. This is one of my favourite save ideas I have heard in a while so thank you to DarkHorseFM for this one!
Morecambe FC:
Type of FM save: Park to Prem
This one seems to be a favourite of experienced Football Manager players as we prepare for the release of FM 26, but specifically shout out to FM Scout for this great save idea. Morecambe FC nearly went bust after facing serious financial difficulties and were searching for new ownership, and wonderfully, they found it! New ownership has stepped in and bought the club more time, and your job will be to lead Morecambe out of the dark times, and despite dealing with financial issues and a limited budget, climb the English football pyramid from the National League until you reach the pinnacle – the Premier League.
SBV Vitesse:
Type of FM save: Rebuild/Lower league to champion
SBV Vitesse are another team that have faced financial issues that have rocked the club tremendously. They have faced points deductions that have seen them finish bottom of the Eredivisie in 23/24 and then bottom of the Eerste Divisie last season despite winning 11 games. Brutal, and so you would think Vitesse would not be available to manage in FM 26 because the third division of Dutch football is not in the game, but Vitesse somehow stayed in the Eerste Divisie due to some kind of license they applied for. Rebuilding Vitesse will be difficult and and that’s without mentioning the minus 12 point deduction they start the 25/26 season with – good luck!
CS Corvinul Hunedoara:
Type of FM save: Road to glory
Corvinul are a Romanian second division club that won the Romanian Cup last season, meaning they are playing in Europa League qualifiers this season! So if you manage Corvinul, you will simultaneously have the task of getting them promoted to the Romanian first division while also making your way through the Europa League if you qualify! All credit to DarkHorseFM for finding this brilliant obscure save!
FC Girondins de Bordeaux:
Type of FM save: Fallen giant
Thanks to DarkHorseFM and FM Scout for this great save idea! 6 time French Champions Bordeaux nearly went in to administration last season. After the 23/24 season they were administratively relegated to the Championnat National. In July 2024, it was announced that the club would officially give up their status as a professional football club, terminating all professional contracts. Then in August 2024, due to bankruptcy, Bordeaux was forcibly relegated to the Championnat National 2. Your task is simple, steer Bordeaux through these incredibly difficult times and carry this former giant from the 4th division of French Football back to Ligue 1!
Santos FC:
Type of FM Save: Challenge
Take over Santos, help them climb back up to dominance in the Brazilian Serie A, and also replicate what they did with Neymar by taking on the challenge of producing a Ballon d’Or worthy player (but the player you find will need to actually win one for you to complete your challenge). Great idea from YGormy with this interesting save.
Burnley & RCD Espanyol/RB Leipzig & RB Salzburg:
Type of FM save: Multi club save
The multi club save is even more relevant today with how much multi-club ownership is permeating the sport. YGormy and Clayts have suggested great multi-club saves you can take on. The most obvious multi-club ownership scheme in football is the two Red Bull teams, Leipzig and Salzburg who you could attempt to manager and lead Leipzig to their first Bundesliga. You could also take on two teams a little lesser known to be owned by the same people, Burnley and Espanyol, two teams struggling to stay in the top divisions of their countries, and the challenge would be to build both of these clubs up.
