Barcelona have the 3rd highest transfer budget in all of FM 26 behind only Brighton and Tottenham strangely enough. Despite financial turmoil in recent years that has included selling off their TV rights so that they can afford to register players and be compliant with La Liga financial rules. However the singular greatness of La Masia and the products it has produced in Yamal, Pedri, Curbasi, Badle and Gavi among others that are key parts of this Barcelona team. It’s a team full of FM wonderkids. Barcelona maybe is not the most challenging save when it comes to scouting or team building but the expectations and standards are incredibly high and how you spend your transfer budget has to be justified given what the academy is capable of pumping out.
Real Madrid have the 9th highest transfer budget in Football Manager 26 and when you think about it, for arguably the biggest club in the world they do love to balance a big signing with about 5 free signings of free agent players who have ran down their contract while negotiating their next contract with Madrid. Liverpool might be about to find that out in back to back seasons with Trent and now Konate. But there is still clearly plenty of transfer kitty to spend, and to compete on every single front with the likes of PSG, Liverpool, Arsenal and the likes in Europe as well as of course Barcelona both domestically and in Europe, you will need to improve areas of this Madrid side. There is no acceptance of anything less than domination if you decide to do a Real Madrid save in FM 26 so spend wisely.
