England vs Wales Value Bet Builder, Preview & Score Prediction

Tonight’s friendly match taking place at Wembley between England and Wales will be the 105th official meeting between the two British nations. Their last meeting took place all the way back in the group stages of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar with the three Lions coming out on top 3-0 that day.

England vs Wales Preview and Team News:

England have a good record under Thomas Tuchel through his first 6 games in charge despite some awful shouts in the media that he is not a good coach, doesn’t understand the importance of the job or that England should have an English coach. Under Tuchel England have 5 wins and the sole loss was to Senegal in a friendly. Since that loss to Senegal in June, England have played two world cup Qualifiers vs Andorra and Serbia, winning 2-0 and 0-5 respectively. This friendly precedes England’s World Cup qualifying game against Latvia next Tuesday which is their final game of this international break.

England have won their last 7 games over Wales in all competitions and will look to continue that streak. Captain and all-time leading goalscorer Harry Kane suffered an ankle injury in training and is a major doubt for this game, and there is no reason for Tuchel to risk his long-term fitness in a somewhat meaningless friendly. Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden are among other major names who will miss this game; neither made the national team squad for this international break.

Wales also had a very positive start under new coach and Wales legend Craig Bellamy, going unbeaten through his first 9 games, but since then things haven’t gone as smoothly. Over their recent games, Wales have notched a 1-0 win over Kazakhstan, and lost to Belgium 4-3 in World Cup Qualifiers, and also lost 1-0 to Canada in a friendly. Bellamy will of course be looking to end England’s 7 game winning streak in this fixture, but will have to do so without veteran Aaron Ramsey who has pulled out of the squad due to injury.

Bet Builder Selections:

  • England to Win (Match Result)
  • England Over 1.5 Total Goals
  • Bukayo Saka to Score or Assist
  • Under 9.5 Total Corners

Bet Builder Reasonings:

England to win:

  • This seems quite self explanatory, but it should help you feel more confident that England have won the last 7 meetings between these two teams. Even without Kane, Bellingham and Foden, England have the superior squad overall, will field the much more talented starting XI and are at home playing at Wembley.

England Over 1.5 Total Goals:

  • England have scored in 16 consecutive games in all competitions. They have scored over 1.5 goals in 11 of those 17 games – the only games they did not score 2 goals were against Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Senegal and Andorra. England have scored over 1.5 goals in their last 3 games vs Wales.

Buakyo Saka to Score or Assist:

  • Saka is in good form for club and has always performed for country – he has arguably been England’s most consistent performer over the past 5 years or so despite Kane’s goal tally (penalties). Without Kane in the starting lineup due to injury, Saka is likely on penalty duties. He may also be on corner duty for that assist. And is without doubt England’s best pure chance creator that is likely to start tonight.

Under 9.5 Total Corners:

  • England’s last 3 games under Tuchel have ended with 8 total corners in the match. You have leeway for one more on top of that for this leg to come in!

Score Prediction:

  • England 2-0 Wales
