A Wonderkid from Every Club in England

Every club in England has reason to hope. Some, a lot more than others, granted. I’ve gone through every club in the Premier League, Championship, League One and League Two and found out the best wonderkid from each. This is from a mixture of looking at how much each player is playing in respect to their age, who has the most hype and who’s shown the most potential to go the furthest. The maximum age they can be is 23 and I’ve only done that age when I’ve been very desperate. Some teams don’t focus on youth, to say the least. So, here is the definitive list of the best wonderkid from every club. I’m sure everyone will agree with every pick.

  • Accrington Stanley – Josh Smith
  • AFC Bournemouth – Eli Junior Kroupi
  • AFC Wimbledon – Aron Sasu
  • Arsenal – Max Dowman

Arsenal’s teenage attacking midfielder became one of the youngest ever Premier League debutants at age 15, and has been involved with England youth teams. He’s already scored in the UEFA Youth League, becoming its youngest scorer.

  • Aston Villa – Alysson
  • Barnet – Patrick Matejko
  • Barnsley – Reyes Cleary
  • Barrow – Katia Kouyate

A name that many Football Manager lower league managers will be aware of. An absolute demon in front of goal. He’s at the upper end of the wonderkid category now, but if the game is anything to go by, he has tonnes of quality.

  • Birmingham City – August Priske
  • Blackburn Rovers – Harvey Higgins
  • Blackpool – Theo Upton
  • Bolton Wanderers – Sam Inwood
  • Bradford City – Jenson Metcalfe
  • Brentford – Michael Kayode

A name that many Football Manager players will recognise. If Brentford sign a youngster, you just know that they’re probably going to be elite.

  • Brighton & Hove Albion – Charalampos Kostoulas

Same with Brighton. They had so many wonderkids to go for, but I had to choose their Greek god up front. With a name like that, with Brighton signing him for that fee, you just know he has to be quality.

  • Bristol City – Ephraim Yeboah
  • Bristol Rovers – Ollie Dewsbury
  • Bromley – Idris Odutayo
  • Burnley – Lesley Ugochukwu
  • Burton Albion – Finn Delap
  • Cambridge United – Samuel Okolie
  • Cardiff City – Dylan Lawlor
  • Charlton Athletic – Ibrahim Fullah
  • Chelsea – Estevao

In Brazil he is being talked about as the next Neymar. And if you’ve played Football Manager, you’d have to agree with them. His raw ceiling here is ridiculous. Could be a generational talent if he follows this path.

  • Cheltenham Town – Tom King
  • Chesterfield – Gunner Elliott
  • Colchester United – Ronnie Harvey
  • Coventry City – George Shepherd
  • Crawley Town – Charlie Barker
  • Crewe Alexandra – Matus Holicek
  • Crystal Palace – Jaydee Canvot
  • Derby County – Owen Eames

Owen Eames is one of Derby’s most notable current youngsters, having already made first-team appearances in both the Championship and FA Cup after progressing through the academy.

  • Doncaster Rovers – Sam Straughan-Brown
  • Everton – Tyler Dibling
  • Exeter City – George Birch
  • Fleetwood Town – Liam Roberts
  • Fulham – Josh King

You may recognise him as a very affordable option in fantasy football. Unfortunately, that probably won’t last forever as he develops more and more.

  • Gillingham – Sam Gale
  • Grimsby Town – Henry Brown
  • Harrogate Town – Cathal Heffernan
  • Huddersfield Town – Cameron Ashia
  • Hull City – Charlie Hughes
  • Ipswich Town – Sindre Walle Egeli
  • Leeds United – Harry Gray

The Gray dynasty lives on. Archie Gray is one of the best wonderkids at Tottenham and his brother Harry is probably the best at Leeds right now. Already making waves in his loan spell at Rotherham.

  • Leicester City – Jeremy Monga

Monga is one of those Championship teenagers where you watch and think, yeah, he’s not going to be here long. He’s playing in the Championship at just 16-years-old. Leicester have a knack for producing and polishing talent, and he looks like he could be the next one off the conveyor belt. Direct, powerful, and already impacting games. Yeah, he’s going straight to the top.

  • Leyton Orient – Phil Chinedu
  • Lincoln City – Noah Simmons
  • Liverpool – Rio Ngumoha
  • Luton Town – Jake Richards
  • Manchester City – Sverre Halseth Nypan

City collecting the best young midfielders in Europe is basically tradition at this point, and Nypan fits the mould perfectly. Norwegian fans have been excited about him for ages, and you can see why. Technically sharp, intelligent, always looking forward. The only question is whether City actually gives him a pathway, or whether he becomes another “loan army” story. Or is sold for £30m to Brentford in 2030.

  • Manchester United – Patrick Dorgu
  • Mansfield Town – McKeal Abdullah
  • Middlesbrough – Cruz Ibeh

According to reports, Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, and Liverpool are monitoring Cruz Ibeh

  • Millwall – Raees Bangura-Williams

He’s one of Millwall’s most exciting young first-team prospects. He has made regular senior appearances and scored for the club in both the FA Cup and Championship. Bangura-Williams has also earned caps for England U20, showing his quality on the international youth stage

  • Milton Keynes Dons – Callum Tripp
  • Newcastle United – Lewis Miley
  • Newport County – Moses Alexander-Walker
  • Northampton Town – Josh Tomlinson
  • Norwich City – Oscar Schwartau
  • Nottingham Forest – Zach Abbott
  • Notts County – James Sanderson
  • Oldham Athletic – Charlie Kershaw
  • Oxford United – Tyler Goodrham
  • Peterborough United – Boluwatife Shofowoke
  • Plymouth Argyle – Tegan-Lee Finn
  • Port Vale – Joe Williams
  • Portsmouth – Olutayo Singerr
  • Preston North End – Noah Mawene
  • Queens Park Rangers – Rayan Kolli
  • Reading – Charlie Savage

With a dad who you might know in Robbie Savage. He’s at the older end of the wonderkid spectrum, but after Andre Garcia leaving he’s now Reading’s definite best young prospect.

  • Rotherham United – Hamish Douglas
  • Salford City – Kyrell Malcolm
  • Sheffield United – Ollie Arblaster
  • Sheffield Wednesday – Ernie Weaver

It may be tough times at Sheffield Wednesday right now, but Sheffield Wednesday have a brilliant young centre back in Ernie.

  • Shrewsbury Town – Isaac England
  • Stevenage – Jack Taylor
  • Stockport County – Benoný breki andrésson
  • Stoke City – Ato Ampah
  • Sunderland – Chris Rigg

A pivotal part in Sunderland’s promotion and even if Sunderland stay up for the next couple of seasons you could easily see him moving on.

  • Swansea City – Sam Parker
  • Swindon Town – Sonny Hart
  • Tottenham Hotspur – Luca Vuskovic

Vušković has that classic “next elite centre-back” aura. Tall, composed, and already playing like someone five years older. Spurs fans are desperate for defensive stability long term, and he could be the answer. People in Croatia and any Football Manager fans have been raving about him since he was basically a child, so the expectation is massive.

  • Tranmere Rovers – Nohan Kenneh

A name you might recognise as one of the best wonderkids at Leeds United. His final year of squeezing into the wonderkid category.

  • Watford – Othmane Maamma
  • Walsall – Charlie Wragg
  • West Bromwich Albion – Eseosa Sule

Top scorer for West Brom’s U21s last season, netting 14 goals in youth competitions, and has already made a senior appearance in the League Cup.

  • West Ham United – Mateus Fernandes
  • Wigan Athletic – Harrison Bettoni
  • Wolverhampton Wanderers – Mateus Mane
  • Wrexham – Harry Ashfield
  • Wycombe Wanderers – Jamie Mullins
