How Are Fantasy Premier League Points Awarded?

Fantasy Premier League points are awarded using a designated system which rewards players for goals, assists, clean sheets etc.

But Strikers and Wingers are more likely to score more than Defenders?

FPL has created a balanced system where Defenders not only get awarded more points if they score, but also receive points if they keep a clean sheet. This maintains a nice balance between Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder and Forward scoring.
