Build a world-class squad for pennies! đź’Ž Discover the best FM26 wonderkids in this full XI, all for a total team cost under ÂŁ10m. Don’t miss out!
Every year Football Manager players try to build the ultimate wonderkid squad. The usual problem? Cost. The very best prospects are usually tied to massive clubs, huge release clauses, or transfer fees that only elite saves can realistically afford.
So I set myself a challenge: build an entire XI of wonderkids for as little money as possible. While still making sure every player actually has great potential.Â
To do that I used the Football Manager Blog wonderkid database, which ranks players by Potential Ability (PA). The key benchmark was simple: every player had to project to at least good Premier League level or higher.
For reference, their rating system works like this:
Using those thresholds, I went bargain hunting across the world. The result is a full XI packed with ridiculous upside for a fraction of the price you’d normally pay.
Here’s the team.
Kerem Matisli – Bursaspor – £782k – PA 158
Kerem Matisli slips under the radar slightly because he’s playing in Turkey’s lower divisions with Bursaspor.
Despite that, his 158 potential ability puts him comfortably in the bracket of a future top-league starter. According to the wonderkid rankings he’s the fifth-best young goalkeeper in the entire database, which makes the £782k price tag look extremely generous.
For a long-term save, he’s exactly the type of keeper you buy early, loan out for a few seasons and end up with a genuine number one.
Bleon Kurtulus – Halmstads BK – £841k – PA 156
Bleon Kurtulus might not be a household name yet, but the numbers behind him are extremely promising. His 156 potential puts him firmly in the “leading continental” bracket, meaning he projects as a defender capable of starting for strong European sides.
That’s particularly notable when you compare him with more well-known prospects. His potential rating actually comes out higher than players like Ayden Heaven, despite costing well under a million.
If you’re scouting for defensive bargains, Scandinavia is exactly the sort of place for it and Kurtulus is exactly the type of player you want to find.
Sergey Muradyan – FC Noah – £1m – PA 155
Armenian club FC Noah isn’t the first place most Football Manager players search for wonderkids. But Sergey Muradyan is exactly why you should start branching out and looking further afield.
With a 155 PA, he sits right on the edge of becoming a high-level European defender. For £1 million you’re essentially getting a player who can realistically grow into a starter for a Champions League-level side.
Defenders with that level of potential usually cost five to ten to one hundred times more once they’re established.
Saba Kharebashvili – Dinamo Tbilisi – £1m – PA 151
Georgia has quietly produced some outstanding talent in recent years and Saba Kharebashvili is another example.Â
For ÂŁ1 million – with good full backs becoming rarer as the game progresses – there’s a reason he’s the most bought player on FM26.
Roi Torres – Intercity – £208k – PA 154
This is arguably the biggest bargain in the entire XI.
Roi Torres costs just ÂŁ208k, yet his 154 potential places him comfortably among the most promising young full-backs in the database. In fact, his projected ceiling is higher than legendary Football Manager wonderkids like Ivan Fresneda.
When you find a player with leading-level potential for barely more than ÂŁ200k, you sign them immediately and worry about everything else later.
Yu Takada – Tokushima – £1m – PA 159
Yu Takada is the anchor of this team and one of the most interesting prospects in Asia.
His 159 potential ability suggests he can grow into a top-level defensive midfielder capable of playing for strong European sides. That’s a rare profile to find outside the traditional South American and European talent pools.
For £1 million you’re effectively buying a player who could develop into the tactical heartbeat of a team.
Tian Nai Koren – Club Brugge – £60k – PA 167
Every Football Manager save has that one signing that feels like outright theft.
Tian Nai Koren might be exactly that. He costs just ÂŁ60k yet carries a 167 potential ability, which places him firmly in the world-class tier.
Players with that rating usually sit at the very top of wonderkid lists and cost tens of millions. Finding one available for this fee is almost absurd.
If he develops properly, he could easily become the best player in this entire team.
Toni Fernández – Barcelona – £454k – PA 162
Barcelona’s academy is famous for producing elite talent, so it’s always worth checking their youth squads for opportunities and those players that are somehow slipping through. Essentially, their surplus wonderkids.Â
Toni Fernández is one of those players who can sometimes slip through the cracks early in a save. For £454k, you get a midfielder with 162 potential, meaning he projects as a high-level starter for major clubs.
Technically strong and coming from La Masia, he fits perfectly into the type of midfield player Football Manager managers love to build around.
Amara Diouf – Generation Foot – £84k – PA 159
Here he is. The biggest bargain of the lot. From Generation Foot. Which you may not have heard of before this game, but you will have now.
For £84k, you’re getting a winger who is on track to become a leading attacker at top European level.
Sadriddin Hasanov – Bunyodkor – £534k – PA 163
Uzbekistan isn’t typically seen as a wonderkid hotspot, but Sadriddin Hasanov stands out immediately in the database.
His potential places him among the most promising attacking players on the entire list. That rating puts him comfortably in the range of players who go on to start for elite European clubs.
Considering he costs just £534k, he’s another example of how valuable it can be to scout outside the traditional talent pipelines.
Daulet Orynbasar – Qairat – £1m – PA 163
Leading the line is Kazakhstan’s Daulet Orynbasar.
His 163 potential ability means he projects as a top-level striker and remarkably, his ceiling actually comes out higher than well-known wonderkids like Mikey Moore and Francesco Camarda in the same database.
For £1 million, you’re taking a gamble on development, but the upside is enormous.
If he hits that potential, he becomes the kind of striker every Football Manager save eventually revolves around.
Put all eleven players together and the entire squad costs £6.96 million. That’s less than many Football Manager saves spend on a single decent prospect.
Yet every player in this XI has a potential ability of at least 150, meaning they all project to become good Premier League level or better, with several pushing into genuine world-class territory.
That’s the beauty of Football Manager scouting. If you look in the right places, you can build a team full of elite talent without spending elite money.
