Ready to Triple Captain in FPL Gameweek 26? With Arsenal doubling against Brentford and Wolves, find out why a defensive TC might be the play.
Gameweek 26 is arguably the least complicated captaincy decision for a while. In fact, many engaged managers are even targeting it for a Triple-Captaincy. If you have consumed any FPL content this week then it will be pretty tricky to avoid all the Gabriel Triple Captain discourse…and with good reason.

Anyway, without further ado, let’s get stuck in.

Even with a brief wobble against Man United, Arsenal still have 4 clean sheets in their last 5 games. Their defence is head and shoulders above the rest of the leagues and they have a double coming up.
The question is not: Should I captain him? it’s should I Triple Captain him?
To which the answer is, probably yes. Now there are 3 main reasons which lend itself handily to the Triple captain and they are as follow.
So, in conclusion. All the data, fixtures and expert opinions would suggest triple captaining is the way to go. So we probably would.

If you are feeling edgy and want to go against the grain with a more differential option, then Bruno Fernandes is a great place to start. They do take on a West Ham team who have won 3 of their last 4, however. All of those wins were against teams in a bit of freefall and the only top attack during that time was Chelsea, who put 3 past them.
Bruno can do no wrong at the moment, with 6 returns in his last 5 games, 8 bonus points and some Defcon points. With an xGI per 90 of over 0.71 during that stretch. Stats aside, your eyes can just tell you how dangerous and involved this guy is every game, offering one of the safest floors in the game right now and an uncapped ceiling.

Haaland was back amongst it with a goal and an assist against Liverpool, displaying what seemed like a return to his deadly normal self, accruing an xGI of 1.66. He now takes on a Fulham side who have slipped into the top 5 for xGA this season and have lost 3 of their last 4.
Haaland should be keen to continue his goalscoring ways now he is back amongst the goals and Fulham should provide the perfect opportunity to build off that momentum.

Crystal Palace are back in the win column for the first time since GW15. As often happens with teams in bad form, good fixtures can often inspire a return to some form. Burnley have no only conceded the most goals in the league, they also have the worst xGA with 54.64, a whole 5 more than 2nd place West Ham. There’s no 2 ways around it, Burnley’s defence is awful.
They also have one of the league’s worst attacks, ranking 2nd last for goals scored and 2nd last for xG.
Now if only there was a player who can score clean sheet points and has a good chance of attacking returns. Oh wait, there is. Daniel Munoz. If Palace’s form hadn’t been so bad and Gabriel did not have a double Gameweek, we would arguably be looking at DGW26’s best captaincy option. Alas, Palace’s recent form keeps him just below Fernandes and Haaland.

Like Haaland, Palmer was also back amongst it and is playing leaky defence. That’s now 4 wins in the league on the bounce for Chelsea, who have also scored 11 goals during that stretch. Granted 2 were from penalties, so there’s no need to get too far ahead of ourselves. For example, I don’t think he’s a must buy by any stretch, especially considering the fixture turn in GW28 and the fact his minutes are being managed. But if you do own him, Leeds at home are the sort of fixture you are hoping he hauls in, considering Leeds have conceded the 5th most goals this season and Chelsea’s attack is flying.
