FREE HIT ACTIVATED! We reveal the best FPL Gameweek 15 Free Hit Team to maximize your score and rocket up the ranks.
With plenty of chopping and changing scheduled for this weekend, the potential for big point swings is absolutely massive. As a result, for those of you who still have your free hit saved, Gameweek 15 could be the weekend you take that huge leap in rank.
There are plenty of fantastic match ups to target as well, but also plenty of traps to fall into. As a result, it is absolutely vital you check in with our Predicted Line-Ups hub before locking in any decisions, as plenty of players may be getting a rest this weekend.
Also, if you are still on wildcard, then make sure you check out our Gameweek 15 Wildcard article for more great tips on who to target there.
Now because there will be so much chopping and changing this weekend, we have made sure to maintain an extra deep bench to ensure we’re covered. It also helps when loads of the players you want are an absolute bargain.
Anyway, lets get into it.

With Pope set to miss a few weeks due to injury, Ramsdale provides excellent Free Hit value at only £4.8m. Not only are Newcastle playing Burnley, who have the 2nd lowest xG in the league after Wolves. But Newcastle also have the 2nd lowest xGA. A great defence meets a terrible attack. A no brainer in goal.
Same story as always. £4m and starting.

Fresh off a bit of a rest against Brentford, I would be shocked if Timber doesn’t start against Villa. However, given Villa have scored 13 goals in their last 5 games, we were a little cautious about doubling, let alone tripling up on Arsenal defence. Nonethless a bit of cover would be nice and timber’s locked minutes and attacking threat make him the perfect candidate.
Speaking of attacking threat, FPL’s best asset is up next. Any team without him in his trolling. We listed him as our 2nd favourite captain after Haaland last week in our Gameweek 14 Best Captains and ahead of Bruno and boy does it feel good to be right. We also put our money where our mouth was and captained him ourselves. He has 6 attacking returns already and leads all defenders in xGI this season. He is also playing for a defence who have kept 4 clean sheets in their last 5 games. What else do you want honestly? Absolutely essential.
That’s right you heard us correctly. 4 clean sheets in their last 5. So doubling up on Palace defence seems like an excellent idea at the moment. He is 6th amongst all defenders for Defensive Contributions and has scored 6+ in 4 of his last5 matches. A bargain at only £4.6m and only 4.1% ownership.
Arguably Newcastle’s most nailed defender at the moment given the shortage of fit full backs. Burnley at home is the sort of fixture defenders dream of and Newcastle at SJP are a completely different beast. His ability to get points on either end and his nailed minutes are why we love Tino for a Gameweek 15 Free Hit.
Oh no we didn’t? Oh yes, we did. Triple Newcastle defence and why not. It’s not often the 2nd best defence in the league plays the 2nd worst attack at Home. To be honest, we thought about other Newcastle assets, but they have such good defensive assets and there are plenty of other good attacking assets that this made more sense. Hall is an FPL demon when he’s fully firing as he chips in with clean sheets and puts plenty of balls into the box. He’s also great from set pieces and has about 5 giants to aim for.
His minutes are a slight concern, but given Newcastle will be keen to continue this good league form we may see Eddie squeeze one more game out of him. Ensuring we have good bench cover this team is for situations like this.

Despite 3 blanks in a row, it is hard to lose faith with someone when they’re playing the team who have conceded the most goals in the league this season. Yes Man United have been stuttering a bit but come on. It’s Wolves. Don’t overthink it.
FPL’s leading assist maker this season is non other than Yankuba Minteh. Brighton are currently the 4th highest scoring Premier League team this season behind only City, Arsenal and Chelsea. They now face a West Ham team who despite some plucky performances recently, are still in the relegation zone and have conceded the 2nd most goals this season.
In hindsight it would’ve made sense to put the 2 United assets next to each other but here we are. Unlike Mbeumo, Fernandes has a lot more routes to points, meaning that although his ceiling may not be as big as Mbeumo in the attacking sense. Points wise he provides a very safe floor. Meaning in match ups against lesser opponents like Wolves, he is a fantastic option.
The Premier League’s leading DefCon getter rounds out our midfield. Even though he may likely be coming off the bench he still overs great value at his price tag. Despite registering under 10 DefCons for the first time this season, he remains a great asset and Everton are not that scary.
Foden was one of our favourite differentials in last week’s best differentials piece. Although something tells me he won’t be ‘differential’ much longer. Fresh off 2 mega hauls, he now takes his form into a Sunderland team who haven’t kept a clean sheet in 4 games and have only 1 win in their last 5.
He is however a candidate to be benched this week given he is yet to be this season, and the upcoming fixture schedule is super packed. Another reason to have great bench cover.

There’s not a lot to say about this man that hasn’t already been said. The Premier League’s second highest scorer is currently on pace for 30 goals this year if he keeps his form up. Even though this will likely slow down he still remains an excellent shout on Fre Hit. Spurs have conceded 15 goals in their last 5 and look beyond shaky at the back. Thiago was also rested last game, so will be nailed to start and Brentford currently sit 5th in the league for xG. All the ingredients for a big haul are here.
We won’t elaborate too much on why he’s here. This man can’t be stopped.
Like Thiago, Welbeck also came off the bench last game so we can feel quite optimistic about his minutes against West Ham. The Premier League’s 3rd highest scorer on the 4th best attack against the 2nd worst defence. What a recipe for success.

As mentioned before, bench cover was a key feature of the Gameweek 15 free hit given the potential rests. This was made particularly easy however given how cheap some of the better options were such as Thiago, Welbeck, Minteh, Ramsdale etc.
We also like the focus on attacking minded defenders against teams who are not great on both ends.
