FH13 has proved increasingly popular for a free hit. Not least I imagine, due to some rather trickier fixtures for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Palace and Man United. All of which seem to very popular teams for which to own multiple assets. What makes FH13 even more appealing however, is the plethora of options available from slightly smaller clubs. Leaving plenty of Form vs Fixtures debates on the table.
If you have still managed to hang onto your wildcard and are thinking about wildcarding instead, then make sure you check out our Best Gameweek 13 Wildcard Team article as well. Also, as ever, make sure you always check in with the Predicted Line-Ups Hub before locking in any changes. There is nothing worse than picking a player for Free-Hit and them not starting!
Anyway, with FH13 being as popular as it is, and with there being so many different tactics to choose from, the amount of variance this week could be absolutely massive.
So without further ado, we have assembled the best possible Gameweek 13 Free Hit team we could.

Honestly, you could be me in goal if its against Wolves. Wolves have scored the least goals this season and also sit dead last in the xG table as well. A truly dismal attack. Particularly against a Villa side who have only conceded 1 in their last 3 games in all comps and who have one of the league’s better keepers. No brainer in net.
Honestly we had to pick a £3.9m keeper to make the budget fit and his name sounded cool. If you want to be a Sensible Simon and have the budget then go for Dubravka on the small chance Martinez gets injured in the warm up. But if you need to make up a £0.1m then you should be good to do it here.

City’s next 7 fixtures are an absolute joke in terms of how good they are. Particularly for a defender. O’Reilly has returned in 6/8 starts already in the Prem and honestly was unlucky not to bag an assist against Newcastle. With an xGI per 90 of 0.2 and a fantastic clean sheet potential for the upcoming fixtures, O’Reilly is a great way to kick off the Free Hit 13 defence.
If you read our Gameweek 13 Wildcard Draft you will know how much I love Senesi. The man can do it all. He his 2nd in the entire league for total DefCon and 1st for defenders. But on top of this, he is relied upon to play make from deep in Iraola’s system. He leads the league for passes into the final 3rd with 150, including 85 total balls over the top. More than double Porro in 2nd place with 34.
We discussed his line breaking potential prior to the West Ham game and low and behold it was on full display as he grabbed an assist. In his last 7 games he is averaging an xA of 0.25 per 90. This is legit attacking threat.
Bournemouth fell victim to 2 more fortunate goals against West Ham but defensively were still impressive enough that we can expect clean sheets. Although Sunderland have been good, attacking wise they are not elite by any stretch, scoring the same number of goals as Burnley this year. Making this a way better fixture for a Bournemouth defender than attacker.
Because its Wolves you know we had to double up on the Villa defence. Villa have been in imperious form, winning 6 of their last 7 and Cash seems like the best defender of the bunch. Even though it is not much he does offer slightly more attacking threat than the rest and is nailed for minutes.
I don’t care who this guy is playing, I want him in every team. Munoz is quite literally an attacker listed as a defender. He plays so far forward and is always in and around all the action. His ability to score points on either end is why he finds himself here again. If Man United’s attack sputters like it did against Everton and their defence continues giving up goals then Munoz’ prospects of another haul could be on the cards.
Honestly we just needed a defender to fill up the bench and Mukiele is one of the better ones available under the £4.5m price tag, so he gets the nod.

Given how cheap some of the other optimum players were for the FH13 draft, we felt like Mo Salah could be included. Is he very expensive? Yes. Do Liverpool look bad? Yes. But are they playing West Ham? Yes, and for that reason he finds himself here. No one quite knows who else is starting where in the Liverpool attack, so he is the best chance we have at covering it.
Not a flashy or interesting option but always has the potential to go off.
The inevitable Villa triple up. With 5 returns in his last 7, Rogers is showing signs of the Rogers of last season. Aston Villa started dismally but have completely turned their season around, and Rogers has been at the heart of it. He now takes his resurgent form into the easiest fixture on the calendar, Wolves at home.
A big haul could definitely be on the cards.
With 4 returns in his last 7, including goals against Liverpool and Newcastle, Schade comes into perhaps the 2nd best fixture of the year, Burnley at home. Burnley have conceded the 3rd most goals already this season and are dead last for lowest xGA.
Although Thiago has been the star man for Brentford of late, considering how much they have been scoring and the fixture in front of them, there is every possibility Schade chips in as well.
Another excellent budget friendly inclusion for the FH13 team. Brighton have only lost 1 of their last 8 games and have been in fantastic form, with wins against the likes of City, Chelsea and Newcastle already this season.
Minteh in particular has been a standout performer. He is currently the Premier League leader for assists and now takes his great form into a Nottingham Forest fixture who despite a solid result against Liverpool, still find themselves in the bottom 3 for xGA, behind only Burnley and West Ham. A very nice return potential at a very nice budget.
Anderson will likely find himself coming off the bench for this FH13 team. Nonetheless, he still leads the league in Defensive Contributions by quite some margin and always has every chance of chipping in on the attacking front as well.
His popularity fell off a cliff with Forest’s form but if Forest look as good as they did against Liverpool then he could definitely be a solid option.

The man of the moment and the Premier League’s 2nd highest goalscorer kicks off the frontline. Interestingly, the frontline is exactly the same as the Gameweek 13 Wildcard article, so if you own any of these 3 you are likely sitting very pretty right now.
Another fantastic budget option at only £6.5m, Thiago now finds himself in one of the best fixtures on the calendar, Burnley at home. We could see some fireworks here.
Speaking of fireworks, another man in great form coming into this week’s fixtures is Danny Welbeck. Sine GW7 he has registered over 80 mins per game and with no Europe to worry about this seems set to continue. With 7 in his last 7 and only good fixtures ahead, the stage is set for his hot streak to continue. Especially against a defence ranked bottom 3 for lowest xGA in Forest.
The only way Haaland doesn’t find himself here is if they are playing Arsenal. I would not lose sleep over the Newcastle result, he still found himself in all the right areas and looked dangerous. Don’t overthink it.

It’s not often you can squeeze Haaland and Salah into the same draft and still maintain its general potency. If there is one thing which sums up FH13 it is the domination of non-big 6 players. I’ve seen Free Hits with Mbeumo and Timber etc in. Where all of these are great, they all have trickier fixtures and are all highly owned. No Arsenal was certainly bold but Chelsea currently have one of the best attacks in the league, scoring the 2nd most goals this season and sitting top of the xG table. This makes the Free Hit if you own double Arsenal defence even more perfect.
If you need to free up funds to make it work just whittle down Anderson into whatever asset you can afford.
