Arsenal vs Tottenham Predicted Lineups, Odds, Preview & Prediction

The North London Derby; arguably the most heated derby the Premier League has to offer. And now the stakes are huge, with Arsenal sitting top of the Premier League table and looking like the clear favourites to life the title at the end of the season, and no team will be more motivated to stop that than Thomas Frank’s Tottenham side. As well as the league table this game is about bragging rights for the crown of North London’s true footballing representative, and you can bet these players will care just as much as the fans, the fans won’t give them any other choice!

Arsenal are in fine form, having won 4 of their last 5 in the league, but with a slight wobble last weekend conceding a late equaliser to Sunderland, they will look to bounce back and halt any talks of the pressure of leading this title race wearing them down. Spurs have had a wobble of their own of late, with their early season sparkling form slowly descending in to a mini slide, and they enter this huge game against their bitter rivals off the back of a tough loss to Chelsea and draw vs United. What this Spurs team are compared to Ange’s team last season is a lot more difficult to play against and break down, which is the hallmark of this current Arteta Arsenal team – so this will almost certainly be an intense physical battle and key stars may have to shine to make the game defining difference. This should be a cracker of a game and the result could define how the next stage of this season’s title and top 4 races go – if you consider yourself a football fan this is one you do not want to miss!

  • Can Arsenal bounce back from a late Sunderland equaliser to maintain their gap over Man City with a win over their biggest rivals?
  • Can Tottenham simultaneously bounce back from 2 tough results with a win and dent their North London rivals title hopes?

Premier League Head-to-Head Record:

Arsenal have dominated the recent meetings between these two teams, particularly over their last 5 league meetings. Arteta tended to come out on top vs Ange’s Tottenham teams winning 3 of 4 meetings while he was Tottenham Manager. Overall Arsenal have won 4 of the last 5 meetings with the other being a draw. Tottenham’s last league victory in the North London Derby was in 2022 so Thomas Frank will look to change the momentum of this rivalry. This game tends to produce goals, so that is why we have suggested a bet builder that includes Both Teams to Score which has happened in 3 out of the last 5 meetings.

Arsenal Predicted Lineup:

Arsenal Team News:

Speaking about Gyokeres, Martinelli and Madueke prior to the international break, before Arsenal’s game against Sunderland, Arteta revealed “I cannot confirm all of [them are out this weekend], but you are not far off. Some of them, all of them, [could be available after the break], I don’t know. There are a lot of things that have to happen in the next two weeks, and everything has to be perfect, but I think we’ll be very close”.

Gyokeres is expected to return in GW12 after the international break, as is Martinelli. Martinelli is targeting a return for Spurs according to James McNicholas of The Athletic. These were two short term injuries while Madueke was a much longer recovery process so his inclusion for GW12 is less certain although he is expected to join team training so he could certainly play a part.

Odegaard is further away than his counterparts. The Norwegian national team coach confirmed Odegaard is “still some distance away” from a return. He said “It is steady. It is going in a steady direction, but he is some distance away. He will fly in [to Oslo] after his rehab on Thursday. Then he will continue his rehab with us and will be with us from Thursday afternoon. I don’t know when the flight leaves. But he will be with us until Milan”.

Havertz is also further away than the others from returning to training. He is still not training with the team and remains several weeks away from returning. Arteta stated to the media “Let’s see how he absorbs the load first when he starts to train with us and when he’s done that, obviously we’re going to have to be, especially in the first few weeks, keep an eye on him to manage the amount of minutes and when we play him”.

Arsenal Players to Watch:

Gyokeres: Should be fit and available for Spurs.

Madueke: Set to return to training ahead of GW12 clash vs Tottenham.

Martinelli: Will be fit for Tottenham, was always the targetted return date.

Odegaard: Norway NT coach confirms he is weeks away from a return.

Havertz: Also remains several weeks away from a return to team training let alone the pitch.

Tottenham Predicted Lineup:

Tottenham Team News:

Lucas Bergvall was set to be out for two weeks due to a concussion according to Thomas Frank, meaning he should return to training after the international break. I do not think he starts against a team as physical as Arsenal.

Kudus missed the draw against Manchester United with a knock but should be available for the clash against Arsenal after the international break, coach Thomas Frank said to the media, according to Football London. However, he is not traveling with Ghana over the international break.

Solanke is eyeing a return after the international break, accoriding to Thomas Frank. Frank stated that “The international break will be key. It was clear he was not ready before. We will look after the international break, that was what we aimed for. It’s important that we get (the timing) right”. Clearly it has been a difficult recovery from Solanke but his return is near.
Kolo-Muani (has avoided a fractured jaw but is set to miss six to eight weeks due to his injury, according to Alasdair Gold of Football London. A huge blow for Spurs as Muani had assumed the starting striker role and was playing well. Richarlison will reclaim his spot as the starting striker for Spurs. This either means Brennan Johnson will start at LW with Simons as the 10, but Simons as the 10 with Sarr as the 10 ahead of Bentancur and Palhinha makes far more sense when facing Arsenal.

Tottenham Players to Watch:

Kolo-Muani: Out 6-8 weeks with jaw injury.

Bergvall: Will return from concussion and be available for Arsenal.

Kudus: Not with Ghana squad but will be fit to face Arsenal.

Solanke: May return to training after international break.

Sarr: Perfect 10 for the Arsenal game.

Richarlison: Will re-take starting striker spot with Kolo-Muani out.
