The launch of Football Manager 26 (FM26) is scheduled for a worldwide release on Tuesday, November 4th 2025, across all primary gaming platforms. This new release is anticipated as a defining moment for the franchise, not just the typical annual update. It represents the culmination of a massive technical overhaul, featuring the integration of the new Unity engine, which promises enhanced graphics and a richer Match Day experience. 

FM26 is also introducing official licensing partnerships it previously did not have, including the anticipated debut of Premier League licensing (featuring official club badges and kits) and the inclusion of official FIFA competitions such as the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The official release date for the full launch of Football Manager 26 is Tuesday November 4th 2025. This release date covers both the core PC and console systems. The full game will become available for Windows PC, macOS, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S simultaneously. 

The mobile version of the title are also slated for release on this date, aligning the entire product ecosystem on November 4th. Football Manager 26 Mobile will be available exclusively via the Netflix Games subscription service for Android, while Football Manager 26 Touch will launch exclusively through Apple Arcade for iOS users. 

While November 4th is the official full launch date, the development studio, Sports Interactive (SI), utilizes a phased release strategy to manage the technical complexities inherent in a massive software launch. PC managers who pre-ordered the game have already been granted access to the Advanced Access Beta through digital platforms like Steam and the Epic Games Store.

This staggered release functions as a stability buffer. By restricting the initial high-risk build (the first major game built on the new Unity engine) to the PC platform via Early Access, the developers have been able to stress-test the core technology and address bugs and community complaints. This process minimises the risk of game-breaking stability issues occurring during the crucial global rollout to consoles and mobile devices on November 4th. Player progress in the Early Access beta will transfer to the full game so no need to worry about not being able to continue the saves you start on the Beta. 

One crucial specific platform exception to the November 4th release date: the Nintendo Switch (Touch) edition. The Switch version is scheduled for release exactly one month later, debuting on December 4th 2025. The usual month-long delay for the Switch version is due to the additional optimisation required for the unique hardware constraints.

The most ecent indicator is of course the launch of the last FM game – Football Manager 2024. The release time for FM24 was confirmed across multiple platforms (PC, PS5, and Xbox) as 4:00 PM GMT on Monday November 6th 2023. 

A slight deviation was observed with the delayed console launch of Football Manager 2023 on PS5 compared to other platforms, which occurred at 3:00 PM GMT. This at least points toward a targeted window between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM GMT. This window is chosen because it optimises for revenue : it ensures the game is accessible to European players after work or school when people tend to be relaxing and enjoying their hobbies, while also hitting North American time zones (Eastern Standard Time and Pacific Standard Time) during their morning or early afternoon, maximising purchases and downloads during the critical first 12 hours of the launch.

Playstation 5 and Xbox

The console versions of FM26 cater to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S players.

For Xbox players, the game is available for digital purchase directly from the Xbox Store. Crucially, FM26 will be available on Microsoft’s subscription services, PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass, from launch day.

The PlayStation 5 version can be acquired through the PlayStation Store. Consistent with the launch of the FM23 Console edition, which was digital-only, it is probable that FM26 Console won’t receive a physical release for the PS5 platform. The PlayStation 5 edition offers a 10% saving for active PlayStation Plus subscribers!

Mobile and Game Pass

FM26 confirms the series’ full transition away from a traditional retail model for its mobile platforms, pivoting entirely to a subscription model. FM26 Mobile (Android) is an exclusive title available only via the Netflix Games service, which is included in a standard Netflix subscription. Similarly, FM26 Touch (iOS) is available exclusively through Apple Arcade. This move guarantees the game immediate exposure to millions of global subscribers on two of the worlds biggest streaming platforms, securing a revenue stream based on platform engagement rather than reliance on high-risk one-off sales.

Second, the official PlayStation Store listing for FM26 Console confirms a launch time of 8:00 AM PST (Pacific Standard Time) on the day of release. Since Pacific Standard Time (PST) operates at UTC-8, and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) is UTC+0, an 8-hour difference exists. Therefore, 8:00 AM PST translates precisely to 4:00 PM GMT. This verifiable synchronisation across key platforms confirms that 4:00 PM GMT is most likely going to be the global release time for all major platforms (PC, PS5, Xbox, and mobile).
