10 Key Things Every Manager should know before setting their FPL Teams for Gameweek 7.
With Gameweek 7 knocking on the door. We’ve comprised a list of 10 crucial tips for you to bare in mind before locking in your Gameweek 7 moves. Make sure you also stay up to date with our Predicted Line-Ups hub so you don’t miss a beat ahead of the deadline.
Arsenal are the team to target this week as they have arguably have the best fixtures in the league. Not only do they have the best fixtures, but they also have the best Defence in the league. Arsenal Defence should therefore be a key target for any FPL manager. Our Gameweek 7 wildcard team shows you who we would go for using the 3 Arsenal slots.
Best Players to Target:
If you own Haaland he is an absolute lock to captain this week. Brighton currently sit 5th for xGA and Haaland has been in imperious form in the past few weeks. Absolute no brainer. Gyokeres and Bruno Fernandes are also great options this week.
Perhaps the most inform team in the Premier League, Crystal Palace are now unbeaten in 19 and show no signs of slowing down. You can cover both their attack or defence as both have been exceptional.
Best Players to Target:
Value Bet Alert: Despite 19 Unbeaten, Crystal Palace are 2/1 to beat Everton this weekend!
If you own either Watkins or Wood we can only apologise for what has been a deeply disappointing start to the season. However, with Watkins, given they play arguably the worst defence in the league at home this week in Burnley, you should definitely give it one more week before moving off Watkins. Wood on the other hand has been subbed off early nearly every game and has a tricky run of fixtures coming up. You should move off him.
Just because a few elite creators are bench boosting this week it does not mean you have to. Bench boosts should be entirely subjective based on your players and the Gameweek. If you like the look of your bench’s fixtures, then go for it. There is no correct week to BB.
There are not a huge amount of template locks this year but there are a few players that should be a feature in everyone’s teams to make sure you don’t fall behind. So if you have a spare transfer, we recommend finding a way to bring these guys in in for Gameweek 7. Not least before their price skyrockets.
Essential Players for Rest of Season:
City are a great team to target at the moment but remember how much Pep likes to rotate his teams. Man City also have plenty of European fixtures coming up, which further increases the chance of rotation. In particular the likes of Doku and Foden should be covered well if brought in.
There is also not enough upside to bring in Gvardiol at his cost, as they are not keeping clean sheets, he’s playing centre back and is not a great DefCon candidate.
Do not be scared about bringing in Sunderland and Leeds £4m defenders. Both are in the top 7 for lowest xG allowed. Their defences are also loaded with DefCon candidates , there is a treasure trove at FPL’s lowest price point of £4m. Leeds in particular have great fixtures. Check out our Gameweek 7 Differentials piece to view the best options.
If you need a budget striker under £7m then Thiago at £6m is your only viable option.
Unlike Palace or Arsenal it is easy to miss on Newcastle assets, despite their great upcoming fixtures. In our opinion, only 4 should seriously considered as they are nailed and have a solid route to points.
