Amorim, speaking on Friday, confirmed Bayindir will start this weekend. He said on the matter “Altay is going to continue because we need to. This game is clear. Altay will start. It’s a show of faith in Altay.” We will see how Bayindir performs and how this situation progresses over the coming weeks with new goalkeeper Lammens in the fray but he should start again against Chelsea.
Amorim revealed that “Matheus Cunha, Diogo Dalot, Mason Mount are out for this game. I don’t know how long it’s going to take…If you talk with Cunha, he will say that he can play this game… We’ll manage day by day, but they are pushing really hard, and that is a good thing”. Cunha suffered what was a hamstring injury against Burnley. He went straight down the tunnel. He did not go away with the Brazilian National Team as he recovered, and it seems like he will be out a couple more weeks at least.
With Cunha and Mount both unavailable, Amad played the left 10 role alongside Mbeumo while Mazraoui played right wing-back. I would think the same happens again unless Mount is fit and available to play the left 10 role which would allow Amad to play RWB.
The Luke Shaw experiment has to end. Surely Maguire comes in to the starting lineup alongside De Ligt and Yoro. Ugarte will be replaced by Casemiro. He is just not a Premier League standard footballer let alone Manchester United standard (whatever that is in 2025).

Palmer returned off the bench for Chelsea and changed the game massively when he did. He scored Chelsea’s equaliser and upped Chelsea’s tempo. They looked much more dangerous with him on the pitch. He will start against Manchester United. Estevao did not train with the squad before the United game due to returning so late from Brazilian National Team duty. His exclusion from the GW4 squad is not injury related, and given Gittens did not make a major impact, I think he will come straight back in to the starting lineup at right-wing.
Liam Delap left the game against Fulham with a hamstring injury. Delap did not need surgery on his hamstring. Maresca informed the media that “Liam is around 10 to 12 weeks. Long way to go!”. A lengthy layoff for Delap. In terms of who might start as the striker for Chelsea this weekend, Maresca said “For us, the only number nine is Guiu and Joao (Pedro) can play there and against Fulham we used Ty (George).” While he mentions Guiu and George, Joao Pedro will start up-front.
Tosin and Chalobah should continue to be the starting centre-back pairing despite Acheampong’s impressive debut in GW1. Lavia was spotted training on grass after his lengthy layout that began during the Club World Cup, and is likely ramping up slowly. He will not feature in GW4.
Garnacho made his first Chelsea appearance off the bench and was somewhat at fault for Brentford’s equaliser.
