Easter Eggs in Sports Interactive’s FM 26 UI Trailer

Our resident Football Manager expert takes us through some easter eggs that he found in the new FM 26 UI trailer video that Sports Interactive dropped.

Easter Eggs in Sports Interactive’s FM 26 UI Trailer

Everyone’s seen the UI reveal that Sports Interactive dropped yesterday, but there are plenty of small details you might have missed. I’ve pulled together the key easter eggs so you don’t have to go hunting for them. If the graphics engine reveal and this new look at the UI didn’t already have you excited for Football Manager 2026, this definitely will.

First glimpse of women’s football:

The reveal gave us our very first look at women’s football in Football Manager 2026. This is the first official preview of what’s to come, shown off in the brand-new graphics engine. Expect some major announcements on women’s football very soon, but until then here’s the first sneak peek we’ve had: https://x.com/SiMaggioFM/status/1965872972658520292.

In and out of possession tactics

A lot of people have been speculating about what this hidden screen could be, with WorkTheSpace suggesting it might be an “in and out of possession tactics” view. I can confirm, thanks to an inside source, that this is exactly what it is: https://x.com/WorkTheSpace/status/1965833506581524954

New role confirmed

Eagle-eyed fans have already spotted one brand-new role that’s been added to the game: https://x.com/nocontextfm1/status/1965790214368170065/photo/1

Save compatibility

Football Manager 2026, along with FM26 Console and FM26 Touch, will all launch with save game compatibility. That means you’ll be able to continue careers started in Football Manager 2023 and 2024, even though the series is moving to a new engine. For the first time, FM26 Mobile will also include this feature, letting players carry their progress across versions: https://x.com/nocontextfm1/status/1966099644997648559

UI echoes Football Manager 2013

Does the new interface feel familiar? That’s because it has clear similarities to Football Manager 2013. The top bar with drop-down menus, the absence of a sidebar, and the smaller tile-based widgets all feel like a modernised throwback. Vintage with a new twist: https://x.com/fminside/status/1965886403201671574/photo/1

Arsenal are bad

And finally, a fun one: after 20 simulated games, Arsenal aren’t even in the top 13. Maybe those overpowered set-pieces really have been nerfed this year: https://x.com/fm_console/status/1965861429921415285
