FPL Goat’s Fixture Ticker: Gameweek 4

A crazy summer transfer window have gone past along with a 2 week international break and it’s safe to say it’s a fresh start for your FPL team after 3 GWs. Lots of players have moved to other clubs within the PL, lot of arrivals and departures to and from the PL and a lot of injuries as well. There’s another international break post GW7 so it’s a good time to have a game-plan in place till at least GW7 and move on from there. So, without further ado, FPL GOAT brings you his invaluable Fixture Ticker for Gameweek 4 – these are the best teams and players to target till GW7-8 after which many in the community are looking to play their wildcards.

1. Aston Villa:

One of the worst teams in the league and more in terms of attack as they are the only team with no goals scored after 3GWs of football. A silver lining is they have signed and strengthened their attack by adding Harvey Elliott and Sancho to their team. Now i won’t recommend getting in a villa player but i would definitely advice holding onto your villa assets for the next 2-3 GWs atleast

🥇 Watkins: There is a lot of frustration towards Watkins and he has been rightly sold by 300k managers already but i would definitely recommend to hold him. Villa are 19th for xG created but the good part of Watkins have accumulated half of the team’s xG which is talismanic. They now face Everton who are the 3rd worst defence in the league in terms of xG and Big chances conceded and a promoted team in Sunderland in the next 2

🥈 Rogers: Still the best villa asset in terms of xMins but very frustrating when the players at his price are performing immensely well. I would definitely advice on keeping him just cz of the fixtures they have in the next two.

NOTE: If you have both Watkins and Rogers, I would look to sell one of them depending on your team.

2. Bournemouth:

Bournemouth are currently one or the best teams in terms of overall performance and that reflects in their overall underlying numbers. They are top for clean sheets, 4th for xG accumulated, 2nd for big chances created and top for big chances missed

🥇 Semenyo: The best midfield option to get at the moment at any given price point. Only Haaland has more goals this season than Semenyo and only Haaland, Sarr and Bruno have more xG accumulated than Semenyo despite Semenyo not being on pens.

🥈 Senesi: He has an assist so far this season and is the 4th highest scoring defender in the game with decent fixtures coming up. He is one of the only 3 defenders to get defensive contributions points in all the 3GWs so far alongside Tarkowski and Van de Ven.

3. Crystal Palace:

One of the very best teams given how they have started in the league this season. A clean sheet vs Chelsea in GW1, kept forest to just 1 shot on target in GW2 and a clean sheet vs a blunt villa in GW3. It’s clearly visible that the defence is the one to target over everyone else.

🥇 Munoz: Plays a promoted Sunderland and a very average west ham team in the next 2GWs. He has a decent 0.8 xGI this season with an assist already, he hit Defcon points once vs villa and was very close to hitting them vs Chelsea in GW1. He is the best defender to buy at the moment.

🥈 Mateta: It’s a shame he would be top on the bucket list of strikers but with Sarr a big doubt potentially out for 2-4 weeks, Wharton a doubt as well as Eze leaving for Arsenal. The attack looks a bit blunt with so many absentees with the new signings Pino a doubt too. Looking at fixtures in isolation Mateta is still a very good buy this GW.

🥉 Richards/Lacroix/Geuhi: The best part about the palace defence is there are options in all the price brackets and you can pick according to your team structure and budget. A double up on one of the best defences in the league could be a big differential.

Guehi would be my pick if you want to go cheap with some defcon and attacking potential, he came close to hitting DEFCON points twice this season. Guehi is currently battling a slight groin injury so definitely look for the press conferences for some news.

Lacroix a CB with decent corners and set piece threat and a DEFCON points beast – he hit 16, 12, and 9 DEFCON this season and if you are ready to spend 0.4m more than he is the way to go.

This would be my order of preference:

1. Munoz
2. Guehi
3. Lacroix
4. Richards

4. Liverpool:

I don’t think they will ever not be in my list of teams and players to target

Easily the best attack and the 2nd best defence in the league, they do look shaky at the back this season but I’m sure they will get their robustness back very soon now that everything is settled after the transfer window

🥇 Salah: Burnley and Everton next so i don’t think anyone should be going without Salah. No matter how off he has looked this season he always redeems himself and you can’t keep him out of the game. Easily the best captaincy option and should be the first name in your team, your WC and your FH teams too.

🥈 Ekitike: Now he is not necessarily a transfer in but definitely the 2nd best player to own after Salah for the next 2 GWs specifically. Isak has come in and he is the direct competition to Ekitike but with no pre-season training and no team training since June. I think he won’t start from the get go in GW4 and I predict him to start only after GW5 so that’s a good 2 GW pocket to keep or get Ekitike.

🥉 Gakpo: Gakpo is definitely a far better longer term pick than Ekitike once Isak gains his fitness. I predict better xMins for Gakpo than Ekitike once Isak becomes a regular.

NOTE: Wirtz is still a decent option and he is a don’t buy, don’t sell. I would definitely not look to sell him for the next 2 GWs.

Here are my Liverpool attackers in order of preference:

1. Salah
2. Ekitike
3. Gakpo
4. Wirtz

5. Tottenham:

Tottenham continue to having an amazing fixture run for the next 4-5 GWs which started from the start of the season. They clearly are a team in transition with Ange and Son leaving and Maddison out with an injury. A proper overhaul in attack with a lot of significant signings coming in. There is a lack of consistency clearly seen in their first 3 performances with them doing great vs Burnley and Manchester City but completely outdone and outclassed by Bournemouth in GW3. You will need to keep patience with their players in terms of FPL points

🥇 Richarlison: I completely disregarded him despite a great start to the season for him cz of Solanke but he is being reported to miss a decent amount of games and Richarlison does become a great option despite them signing Kolo Muani on loan. Their next 2 opponents are West Ham and Brighton. West Ham have conceded 3 goals and 2 assists to strikers in their and Brighton have conceded 2 out of 4 goals to the opponent strikers.

🥈 Porro: If you already have Munoz in your team then Porro is still a good option to get in your team. He is still one of the most attacking defenders to get with him being top 5 for xA and joint 2nd for shots by a Defender.

NOTE: Other attackers like Kudus, Xavi Simons, Johnson are really attractive too but it’s a bit up in the air as to who starts where.
